Dear candidate, We are family of 2, myself and my son. I am a 30-year old German-Italian working part-time from home and my son is 18 months old. From his fathers side he is also Ghanian/Beninoise, very active and happy, but really enjoys cuddles and concentrating on intricate hand-work, such as logical games etc. We are a singing and dancing family, very open minded and up for meeting new people and making new experiences! I am in need of a person to watch my son part-time during the work week for the next 6 months. After that I would love to adjust the hours flexibly and keep the contact. My son doesn't go to kindergarten yet and loves to go outside to the playground, interact with other people etc. Ideally you would take over the mornings and then wrap-up with lunch and nap time. I'm super flexible however, and we can adjust the times as we go. +++ Details: +++ Tagesmutter: Nein

Pro basketball player Rasheed Wallace often exclaimed the pragmatic truth "Ball don't lie!" during a game. It is a protest against a referee's bad calls. But the slogan, which originated in pickup games, brings the reality of a racialized urban playground into mainstream American popular culture. In Ball Don't Lie!, Yago Colás traces the various forms of power at work in the intersections between basketball and language from the game's invention to the present day. He critiques existing popular myths concerning the history of basketball, contextualizes them, and presents an alternative history of the sport inspired by innovations. Colás emphasizes the creative prerogative of players and the ways in which their innovations shape - and are shaped by - broader cultural and social phenomena. Ball Don't Lie! shows that basketball cannot be reduced to a single, fixed, or timeless essence but instead is a continually evolving exhibition of physical culture that flexibly adapts to and sparks changes in American society. ungekürzt. How was a brilliant physics professor tricked into carrying 2kg of cocaine across the Argentinian border? Why do doctors misdiagnose 10 to 15% of their patients? Why do Nobel Prize winners spread fake news?We assume that smarter people are less prone to error. But greater education and expertise can often amplify our mistakes while rendering us blind to our biases. This is the 'intelligence trap'. Drawing on the latest behavioural science and historical examples from Socrates to Benjamin Franklin, David Robson demonstrates how to apply our intelligence more wisely; identify bias and enhance our 'rationality quotient'; read and regulate our emotions; fine-tune our intuition; navigate ambiguity and uncertainty; and think more flexibly about seemingly intractable problems. The twenty-first century presents us with complex problems that demand a wiser way of thinking. Whether you are a NASA scientist or a school student, The Intelligence Trap offers a new cognitive toolkit to realise your full potential.

Voted the number one Focus on the Family program for 2015, Kimberly and LeRoy Wagner's interview on Fierce Women evoked an incredible response. Requests poured in for a companion book geared directly to men, one that would help men who struggle with loving and leading strong wives. Men Who Love Fierce Women is that book. Paralleling the content and chapters of Fierce Women, but featuring LeRoy's perspective and Kim's insider insights, it equips men to better understand, love, and relate to their strong wives. Each chapter closes with a study section of diagnostic questions and Scripture to apply the content practically and personally. "Five years into 'wedded bliss,' I confessed to Kim that I no longer loved her," writes LeRoy. "We were stuck in a destructive relationship pattern that we now refer to as the 'fierce woman/fearful man' cycle, and I had lost all hope for a peaceful marriage. We've discovered that this is a common relationship dynamic, and we want to encourage and equip husbands and show them a promising way forward." Men Who Love Fierce Women is flexibly designed to stand alone, pair with Fierce Women, or facilitate a group study. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Al Kessel. In today's workplace, good manners matter more than ever. Blending different generations, genders, and cultures brings energy and fresh perspectives to the workplace. But the flip side is an environment ripe for confusion and social blunders. Mix in increasingly open-plan workplaces and constant connectivity, and the chance that we'll unintentionally annoy or offend others increases exponentially. Exactly what are the rules these days? Is it acceptable to text your boss at home? What is the polite way to ask a colleague to take a distracting conversation behind closed doors? What about the use of smartphones in meetings? Merging classic rules of behavior with new realities of modern business, Excuse Me spotlights dozens of puzzling situations, with suggestions for bridging divides. The book untangles the nuances of: Meeting etiquette - Interview expectations - Proper office attire - Electronic manners - Privacy in tight spaces - Eye contact and nonverbal cues - Small talk - Business dining - Social media use - Working remotely and flexibly - And more. While the youngest employees might seem unruly, the oldest can seem rigid. Good manners create an atmosphere of respect, and smooth the way for everyone to succeed. ungekürzt. Language: English.
