Hunderte Typenblätter sind auf diese Weise entstanden, angefangen von der Douglas DC-3 bis zur Tupolew Tu-114. Das Besondere dieser Berechnungsmethode ist eine organische Verbindung aller im Flugbetrieb anfallenden Kosten mit den Flugleistungen eines Typs, woraus sich ein rein quantifizierter Leistungsvergleich qualitativ verschiedener Flugzeuge ergibt, der bis dahin nur sehr schwer angestellt werden konnte.
