  Bruce Nolan is recognized as a master of his instrument. Robert Spillman, a native Kentuckian, graduated from the Eastman School of Music with degrees in piano and theory. He has toured extensively as soloist and accompanist for Rita Streich, Barry McDaniel and James Galway, among others. Mr. Spillman has held faculty positions at the High School for Music in Berlin and at the Eastman School of Music. He was for many years a member of the performing faculty at Aspen Music School and is currently Chairman of the Piano Faculty at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Davis Barnett is a free-lance artist in the Philadelphia area, and a member of the Bethlehem Bach Festival and the Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra. The Woolsey String Quartet was in residence at the Yale School of Music in 1981. Since then, the members of the quartet have pursued individual careers in chamber music and as members of major American symphony orchestras. The Trio was recorded at Lafayette College's Williams Center for the Arts. The equipment used was a Sony 16 Bit Digital recorder, Crown PZM microphones and a Helffrich Custom Pre-Amp. The Quintet was recorded in performance at Yale University using Ampex 440E recorders and Neumann U 87 microphones. Both recording use the Dolby Noise Reduction System.
