Crush OCPD: Help for Couples Hindered by Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder: Transcend Mediocrity, Book 92 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 25min
Many of my readers and listeners write to me asking how to better help their spouse or partner who has OCPD. After writing my book on OCPD - 35 Underlying Causes of OCPD, I jumped directly into researching everything that I could in order to help these couples to find a way to grow together. I knew some of the steps that helped OCPD couples because of my own experiences in growing and learning with my OCPD/Aspie spouse, but I wanted to find a much more "big picture" way to approach and "cure" or lessen OCPD tendencies. While doing my research, I stumbled across information on different types of monkeys and apes which explained the various types of brains and levels of empathy, emotional maturity, and social skills that are evident in society today. There are three types of great apes that are said to relate to the different types of personality disorders that are evident if you look at the human race and normal human behaviors. The concept is that the Bonobo apes represent the humans who have traits and tendencies typical of avoidant personality disorder and dependent personality disorder. The chimpanzees represent antisocial personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and histrionic personality disorders. The last subset of apes that fell on the chart are the orangutans, which are largely representative of paranoid, schizoid, and schizotypal personality disorders. The purpose of looking at this link between human and apes is that it is possible that the differences in human empathy, social skills, and personality are not so much "abnormal" as they are simply slightly more primitive and animalistic in nature.... Essentially, these personality traits that we are classifying as "abnormal" are actually somewhat normal range. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: D Gaunt. The Traits of OCPD - Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder: Difficult People with Inflexible Standards, Rigidity, a Hypercritical Demeanor and an Obsession: Transcend Mediocrity Book 18 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 21min
If you are like me, you spent a majority of your life largely unaware of what OCPD was. When you suddenly stumbled upon it, everything started to make sense. If you have others around you who have OCPD, you see the daily struggles it causes them and the friction that occurs when they try to interact with you and others. You feel helpless and lost with the diagnosis, but you feel relieved that there is a name for the thing you have been dealing with for so long. OCPD is the abbreviation for a group of mental symptoms that are collectively called obsessive compulsive personality disorder. Many people confuse OCPD with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). People can have both; however, OCPD is a pervasive condition that affects the person's entire life and all interactions. A person with OCPD may justify their rigidity and inflexibility using the morals and values their family instilled in them. They don't notice that their OCPD is causing a problem with their interactions with others. Instead they feel that other people aren't being reasonable.... ungekürzt. Language: English. OCPD's Only Hope of Psychological Wellness: The One Scientific Plan Capable of Progressively Freeing the OCPD Bound, Hörbuch, Digital, 303min
A personal message to one who suspects she or he has or is suspected by others of having OCPD: Dear listener and newfound friend, congratulations! By your willingness and open-mindedness to explore, reflect upon, and consider the validity of the vital message of this book and its possible direct application to you, you have demonstrated personal courage of a very high order. In all likelihood you heard about this book through a loved one or dear friend who has your best interests at heart and desires above all else that you lead a rich, rewarding, joyful, and fulfilling life. But to do so it is imperative that you acquire accurate, state-of-the-art, scientific (psychologically sound) knowledge of the condition they feel justified in believing you have. To that end this book presents a proven program for psychological wellness directed to those individuals who suffer from this mental disability called obsessive compulsive personality disorder, or simply OCPD. It is a serious mental illness that wreaks havoc and creates ongoing misery in the lives of those people on the receiving end of the OCPD person's dysfunctional speech and behaviors. It also causes untold harm and damage to the OCPD person himself (or herself, as the case may be). That is why this audiobook was created: to help awaken the OCPD person to the destructiveness of his or her behaviors to others and to facilitate the emergence of insight. Without it no OCPD person will ever recover. Though you may strongly feel this disorder has nothing to do with you, do yourself the favor of listening to this book. Language: English. Married to a Perfectionist: Coping with a Spouse Who Has OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder): Transcend Mediocrity, Book 14 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 17min
Excerpt: "Hello there. I am glad you're here. You are struggling with an OCPD spouse who is driving you crazy. You want to be carefree and spontaneous. But at home you are faced with demands, critiques, and rigidity. You want to have fun with your husband, but he just plain seems like a stubborn ox at times (or maybe all the time, depending upon how bad his symptoms are). "You may be wondering what qualifies me to write a book about OCPD marriage. I, my friend, am quite happily married to an OCPD'er. He is probably a little bit like your OCPD spouse because their traits are pretty similar. If I start to talk about him, it's likely things will start to feel a bit familiar for you. Your spouse doesn't have to have all of these traits, just some of them. "Please download our OCPD series of books in order to learn more about your spouse's disorder, the reason behind the disorder, and your choices when it comes to an OCPD marriage." ungekürzt. OCPD Cure: A Toolkit for OCPD, Perfectionists, Rigid Thinkers and Hypercritical People , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 22min
One of the main causes of OCPD or negative perfectionism is an internal lack of self-confidence. A child with OCPD parents was often told exactly what to do and what not to do. There was never any room for the child to make a mistake and learn from it, nor was there any room to test out new skills or try new things in a no-pressure situation. Due to this, you were not often given the ability to do things that would build up your own self-confidence. If your parents, teachers, or caregivers weren't overprotective or controlling, maybe you had a bad experience in a social activity or an especially embarrassing situation that happened to you. If you were a sensitive child, these things might have hurt you emotionally, causing you to possibly have post-traumatic stress or social anxiety. You are experiencing a lack of self-confidence if you do the following things on a regular basis in your daily routine: You feel the need to explain your actions or mistakes to others. Most people are understanding when we make mistakes or make certain choices. A confident person does not feel the need to overexplain any of his or her actions or mistakes. A confident person simply continues on with his or her day and doesn't dwell on what others are thinking about him or her. You rarely leave the house without looking perfect and double-checking yourself in the mirror. You are afraid that your hair is messy, your shoes are dirty, or your clothes are mismatched. You are terrified that you might spill food or drinks on your outfit, so you are stiff and unfriendly in many situations, obsessing about your appearance. A confident person might bring an extra change of clothing or a bag of makeup with them in preparation for a wardrobe failure, but he or she realizes that genuine people won't worry about that. The Critical Nature of the Aspie or OCPD Husband: Living with a Partner on the Autism Spectrum , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 19min
This book analyzes the rude and critical natures of Aspie and OCPD husbands. It is intended to be a support guide for the nonspectrum and neurotypical partners who marry these men. The book is not intended to be listened to by a person with Asperger's syndrome or OCPD, as it puts names and labels to the abrasive and abusive behaviors that are typical with the brain wiring and genetics at the root of the spectrum disorders. Many people walk into marriage counseling with the same goal. They are living with people who have critical, negative, and grumpy natures. They feel that they are enslaved by these negative people in their lives. One partner's personal growth is drastically hindered by the other partner's sharp tongue, rude comments, and critical nature. If you aren't married to one of these types, you have surely met them on the street or at work. They are the people with road rage who cannot control their outbursts. Shaking their fists angrily out the window, they are shouting obscenities as they drive by you. You might even wonder if they have Tourette's syndrome. They are the rude people on the elevator who let the door slam in your face. They are the critical people in the restaurant who are too stingy to leave decent tips. These people are rigid and inflexible at work. They blatantly refuse to delegate work to others. They are the ones who are vying for promotions without ever doing enough to warrant getting them. They can't participate in the small talk around the office water cooler, but they will complain to anyone who listens about how they were passed up in favor of coworkers. They complain loudly about how their bosses and their teammates must not like them. Believe it or not, some women are attracted to these abrasive types. You might be one of them. The strong and masculine person you can't live without is sometimes your worst enemy. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Lori L. Parker.
