Die frühzeitige Auflösung der Gruppe (1994) und ein ursrpüngliches Coverartwork, welches an ein Album von Sisters Of Mercy erinnert, war trotz Radioairplay in der "Friday Night Rock Show der BBC nicht gerade hilfreich. Und so blieb dieser musikalische Schatz lange auf dem Meeresgrund des Heavy Metal...bis April 2022!Emotional Suicide wurden 1992 von Mark (Witty) Whitlock, Bud Rogers und Jase Manning gegründet, nachdem man zusammen bei The Cut gespielt hat. Drummer Mark Thorman (Big Brother) schloss sich an und der Plan, härtere Musik als bei den Vorgängerbands zu machen, wurde umgesetzt. Nach ein paar Demos wurde die noch etwas anders ausgerichtete "The Word EP aufgenommen. Der Song "It stellte sich dabei als richtungsweisend heraus und landete später auf dem Debüt, welches im März 1993 aufgenommen wurde. In nur sieben Tagen erschuf man mit Produzent Jono (u.a. Gary Moore) ein organisch, süchtig-machendes Album, welches stilistisch nicht einfach anzuordnen ist. Der Gesang erinnert in manchen Momenten an Michael Jackson von Pariah bzw. Satan, während das Riffing die Metallica/Megadeth-Schule hier und da umkreist. Die typische Ästhetik der Neunziger findet sich dagegen nur in wenigen Momenten wieder. Zusammen mit der Band wurde diese Wiederveröffentlichung mit einem neuen Coverartwork versehen und das gesamte Design weicht von den sonstigen Golden Core-Reissues etwas ab.Hier mischen sich die Bezeichnungen "ReRelese und "neues Album" auf ungewöhnliche Weise, da das Original so gut wie niemand kennt... So enthält das 20-seitige Booklet neben den üblichen Fotos und Liner Notes auch die Songtexte. Das Album wurde unter den wachsamen Ohren der Bandmitglieder von Neudi remastert und enthält vier Studio-Demotracks als Bonus.
