    Vor fünf Jahren trat Lambert zum ersten Mal in Erscheinung oder besser: er ließ von sich hören. Die Person hinter der sardischen Stiermaske bleibt bis heute unerkannt. Gerüchte darüber, wer und was sich hinter dieser Maske verbergen könnte, gibt es zuhauf.Nicht zuletzt deshalb, weil Lamberts Spiel auch international bekannt und gefragt ist. Namhafte Künstler wie zum Beispiel José González, Deichkind und Moderat fragten Reworks ihrer Tracks an und bekamen einzigartige Neuinterpretationen zurück. In den besagten fünf Jahren veröffentlichte Lambert vier Solo - Alben und tourte über den halben Kontinent. Und nachdem er 2018 zwei Alben, eines in Kollaboration mit dem Elektronik - Produzenten Stimming und eines mit dem Chicagoer Folk - Sänger Brooklyn Dekker veröffentlichte, erklang im Mai diesen Jahres nun wieder Lambert in Reinform: alleine und maskiert am Klavier.Busy days, busy years - so sehr, dass man schon mehr als eine Persönlichkeit hinter diesem Pseudonym vermutete. Gerüchte und Namen sind für Lambert aber nicht mehr als inspirierender Schall und Rauch. Das, was zählt, ist das, was wirklich dahintersteckt: Ein neues Lambert ? Album wird diese Geschichte im Herbst 2019 weiterschreiben und tiefer verorten. Die Klassifizierung des Künstlers und Phänomens namens Lambert in ein enges Genre - Korsett wird durch die genannte Vielseitigkeit nahezu untragbar. Dennoch, der Name fällt oftmals in neoklassischen Zusammenhängen. Möglicherweise weil seine ersten Liveauftritte gemeinsam mit Nils Frahm und Ólafur Arnalds stattfanden. Dabei sprechen Lamberts Harmonien auch eine deutliche, andere Sprache: Melodien zwischen den Beatles und diesem Chopin treffen auf rhythmische Strukturen und mitreißende Bewegungen, die moderne elektronische Tanzmusik referenzieren. Lambert scheint demnach nicht viel darauf zu geben, pop - oder hochkulturell verortet zu werden. Es tut schließlich auch nichts zur Sache, ist es doch so oberflächlich und trügend wie jede Äußerlichkeit. Festzuhalten bleibt aber, dass Lambert im Gegensatz zur Neoklassik, ihrer Ambienthaftigkeit sowie der konzentrierten Rolle von Fläche und diatonischer Harmonie, sich musikalisch deutlich vielseitiger versteht. Auch schimmert immer wieder ein klares und technisch versiertes Interesse an Musik bis hin zu einem Nerdtum bei ihm durch: Bach und Chopin sind dabei genauso Thema wie Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett und Brad Mehldau. Große Helden, die man nicht hinter jedem seiner Stücke vermuten würde. Denn die im Gegensatz dazu auch zu spürender Eingängigkeit popkultureller Traditionen und Inspirationen machen Lambert zu einem bunten Phänomen, einem gehörnten Pop - Trüffelschweinchen im Matsch der Neoklassik.Aber die nächsten Arbeiten von Lambert werden die Welt sicher wieder eines Besseren belehren. Denn genauso wie viele Persönlichkeiten hinter dieser Maske stecken könnten, kann ein einziges Genre gewiss nicht genug für diesen Klangkosmos sein. Vielleicht ist dies damit auch die beste Verortung für das versteckt spielende Klavier: überall und nirgends, aber immer genau da.
