Fausto Quintabà, piano "An outstanding pianist!" wrote the composer Joeseph Horovitz after listening to his "Sonatina" for clarinet and piano, that Fausto Quintabà had recorded in 2004, together with his clarinet player Ferdinand Steiner. Born in 1977, Fausto Quintabà received his first musical instruction from Marcello Biondolillo, at the conservatory "Vincenzo Bellini" in his native city of Palermo. Since his diploma cum laude, he has won numerous national and international competitions, among those - together with clarinet player Vittorio Buonomano - the "Lions European Competition-Salzburg". He attended the master classes of Aquiles Delle Vigne at the "Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum" and those of Milan Skampa (Prague), Andrea Nannoni (Florence) and Rocco Filippini (Accademia Stauffer at Cremona). In March 2007, he received his second diploma cum laude at the concert pianist class directed by Prof. Claudius Tanski, at the Mozarteum University at Salzburg. In 2005 and 2006, he performed at the openings of the "Salzburger Festspiele. A highly sought pianist of modern music, since then he has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Belgium, France, Netherlands (Concertgebouw-Amsterdam) and Zimbabwe (Harare-HIFA 2009), and played world premières of works by Fabio Nieder, Azio Corghi, Helmut Jasbar, Norbert Zehm, Wolfgang Danzmayr, Klemens Vereno, Stefan-David Hummel and Alexander Müllenbach. Among others, he has worked with conductors such as Peter Wesenauer, Tito Ceccherini, Johnnes Kalitzke and David Danzmayr. Since September 2008, Fausto Quintabà has been accompanist at the "Tiroler Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck". Presently, he is preparing the publication of his first solo-recording, which presents contemporary works alongside Baroque masterpieces.- Shop: odax
