    Christian Psychology is based on the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, not on the knowledge of ourselves. It is not the study of human nature analysed and expounded, but the study of the new life that is born in us through the Redemption of our Lord, and the only Standard of that new life is our Lord Himself; He is formed in us by regeneration (Galatians i. 15-16). We are apt to start with the way we are made naturally and to transfer our reasonings on that to Jesus Christ, inferring that to understand ourselves is to understand Him. In Christian Psychology we have not to introspect as we do in natural psychology; we have to accept the revelations given to us in and through our Lord Jesus Christ; that is, we must take all our bearings from the Son of God, not from our natural wits. We have not to study and understand ourselves; but to understand the manifestation in us of the life of the Son of God Who became Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, there are only two Men-Adam and Jesus Christ, and God deals with them as the representatives of the human race, not as individuals. All the members of the human race are grouped round these two Men. The first Adam is called 'the son of God'; the last Adam is the Son of God, and we are made sons of God by the last Adam. The Christian is neither Adam nor Jesus Christ, the Christian is a new man in Christ Jesus. The first Adam and the last Adam are the only two Men according to God's norm, and they both came into this world direct from the hand of God.

    This book presents a collection of cross-disciplinary research, with contributions addressing all key features of the plant/microbe/ENP nexus in agro-ecosystems. The uptake, transport and transformation of nanoparticles in plants have attracted more and more attention in the past several years. Especially, the impact of Engineered Nanoparticles (ENPs) on bioprocesses; low-, medium- and high-level dose responses in the microbial community of soil; and long-, medium- and short-term exposure responses, particularly microbial nitrogen transformations, are just a few of the aspects involved. Since ENPs are used in many industries, including cosmetics, agriculture, medicine, food technology and waste management, their transport through biogeochemical cycles is an important focus of many studies today.Specifically, ENP-microbe interaction has been analysed with regard to disease treatment for plants; it plays a vital role in disease inhibition by releasing metal ions that act through many pathways - e.g. reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, DNA transformation and disruption of the cell cycle - to stop cell growth in the pathogen. Due to these properties, ENPs are also used as slow release or delayed release pesticides and fungicides, and as carrier systems for growth-promoting hormones. Despite their multiple uses in various industries, the negative effects of ENPs are still a major concern for the scientific community and consumers alike. For example, their transport to various food chains has been reported to have adverse effects. This raises a degree of doubt concerning a rapidly growing scientific field with major applications in many industries.From a sustainable development perspective and particularly to ensure food security in light of the uncertainty accompanying climate change, it is imperative to address this divergence by focusing on the plant/microbe/ENP nexus.

The provisions are intended to improve conditions in the EU DSM to ensure that the market is as free and fair as it is safe for users of the digital economy. This interdisciplinary book analyses the impact of digital technologies on specific markets and, more broadly, the society and the economy. It identifies and assesses the different features, challenges, trends and dimensions of the EU DSM, from a legal and economic viewpoint, and also from a Polish perspective. Poland is presented as one of the EU countries participating in the creation of the EU DSM and is analysed alongside the average, as well as the best and the worst performing EU member states and compared with other non-EU members. The book addresses several broad areas in which the implications of digitalisation are particularly visible, and which are important to the "average" person: giant online platforms, freedom of speech, e-commerce, digital levy, energy infrastructure, and the labour market. The authors have presented opportunities and threats related to the functioning of the digital market. These opportunities and threats are typical of highly developed countries while reflecting the specific features of the EU DSM. The starting point of the considerations are the diverse experiences of the EU member states. Danforth. Methods and effects of conversion therapy are covered and how those are visible in the book in various aspects. Furthermore, the protagonist is analysed as a survivor of conversion therapy. Throughout history, the opinion regarding members of the LGBTQ+-community has changed drastically. From accepting homosexuality as normal in ancient Greece to presenting homosexuality as a sin in medieval and still modern times. Nowadays an overall accepting and even supporting position for the community can be seen, but certain negative tendencies still exist. Those negative tendencies can be especially seen in the church and are often validated with religious arguments but naturally, not all tendencies can be noticed from religious institutions. Those tendencies differ in intensity; however, a certain number of individuals is feeling threatened by members of the LGBTQ+-community and desire to interfere in personal lives to change the homosexuality of a person. This is often done with conversion therapy. Conversion therapy is an issue that many people are unaware of but if they do know of it, people are commonly uncertain of what conversion therapy is like. Most information is gathered from media and books as in the book The Miseducation of Cameron Post. The teenage girl Cameron Post is sent to a conversion therapy camp to be cured of her homosexuality. Before and during her time in the camp, she writes down her experiences and her eventual escape. Since conversion therapy is not banned in all US states and considering that society only knows about conversion therapy through books and media, it is interesting to examine if the conversion therapy in "The Miseducation of Cameron Post" is an accurate portrayal of conversion therapy in the United States in the 1990s.

It is an attempt to reduce socio-economic disparities between and within EU member states and thus to make pan-European economic success more equitable. The main instruments for supporting less developed regions and countries are the European Structural Funds. Their impact has been the subject of numerous studies in recent decades. In most cases the socio-economic changes in a region can be identified relatively easy from figures and data. However, the aim of this paper is to focus on the qualitative effects of the Structural Funds on political structures, processes and actors and thus to conclude on the sustainability of their contribution to the development of a region, beyond the financial means. In the end, it is always a goal of regional development to overcome a region's dependence on subsidies. The analysis in this paper focuses on the approach of multi-level governance as the modus operandi of EU Cohesion and Structural Policy. Taking the Scottish Highlands and Islands (H&I) as an example, the paper explores the extent to which the involvement of multiple political levels and a variety of different actors in the governance and implementation of Structural Funds programmes has influenced the success and sustainability of the region's economic and social development. To come to the desired conclusion, the following chapters first give an overview of EU Cohesion Policy, describe the role of the Structural Funds and present the connection between the multi-level governance approach, the partnership principle and its consequences for less developed regions. The socio-economic problems of the H&I region, also referred to as the 'Highland Problem', are then described, as well as the previous social and economic development efforts. In particular, the Highlands and Islands Development Board (HIDB) and its successor, the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), laid important foundations for the later success of EU Structural Policy in the region. In the final part, the processes and contents of the individual EU funding periods are described and analysed regarding their impact on regional partnership structures, and a conclusion is drawn.
