For The Hotwalls's 2009 release, Everybody Here, the band took the shimmering, power pop of their 2007 debut, deconstructed it's more striking elements, and added a little soul, punk, and psychedelia, making for a highly dynamic and compelling work of art. From the album's mini-epic opener "Conquer Din" and the unforgiving one-two punch of "Love & Sense" and "Embodied," to the mocking waltz of the title-track and the aching beauty of "Sarabot," the band's remarkable development over the last two years is evident. Owing much to the addition of Nathan Lélandais-Miller on bass, with his rich sense of tone and counter-melody, and Jarrod Champion's multi-instrumental verve on drums, keys, and harmonies, The Hotwalls boast a brilliant sonic palette as they've become a bona fide collective. Gabriel Doman weaves his angular yet agile guitar work, from delicate restraint to near-abandon, with Ryan Milligan's versatile tenor, vividly animating the album's themes of love, loss, urgency, and purpose. Animating Existence
In 'Animating Existence,' Timothy A. Helisek explores the world of sounds that can be created using inanimate objects in conjunction with electronics. He strategically makes drawings of how the piece should sound, then uses mathematics and computer programming techniques to transfer the picture into a unique, avant-garde musical composition. Through these sounds, 'Animating Existence' follows the flow of life, each track dedicated to a different stage in our lives, from the origin of our existence until death. The painting on the album's cover is also by the composer and will visually compliment the music. Timothy earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Composition from California State University Northridge in 2008, an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Guitar Performance in 2004 from McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota and has studied piano performance extensively at Normandale Community College. Timothy resides in Los Angeles where his focus is writing contemporary classical music, his compositions have won several awards. He has also composed the music for dozens of films and has over 500 tracks across all genres available for licensing in film and media. He is author of the educational guitar book 'Reading Studies for the Beginning Guitarist,' available on Amazon and other online retailers.
