The Corn Fed Girls can best be described with a simple statement: Heartwarming acoustic music with enduring themes that capture the imagination and fill the soul. They possess a unique ability to inject their live show with humor while performing original songs that simultaneously challenge and comfort the listener. Their instrumental line up can be considered traditional however their musical arrangements most certainly span the gap between old and new, and sharing the lead vocal duties between all six members of the band definitely puts them in a league all their own. Darcy Wilkin plays rhythm guitar while Sarah Fuerst keeps time on the upright bass. Ira Cohen's banjo style blends perfectly with Phil Barry's innovative lead guitar work. Rounding out the group are John Campos on mandolin and Mike Fuerst on fiddle. Their personal ties span decades and they have common bonds of family and musical influence. While Kalamazoo Michigan is usually called home, they have been known to hang their hats in many places, actively touring the Midwest. The Corn Fed Girls weave a musical cloth that is durable and comfortable, familiar yet mysterious.

The Flash - Complete Seasons 1 and 2 - Until recently, 25-year-old Barry Allen lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy forensic scientist in the Central City Police department. Barry is deeply in love with his best friend, Iris West, daughter of Barry's surrogate father, Detective Joe West, who adopted Barry 14 years ago after Barry's mother was murdered and his father, Henry Allen, received a life sentence for the crime - though Barry maintains that a mysterious "Man in Yellow" was responsible. Nine months ago, the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark matter lightning storm that struck Barry - bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive. But Barry wasn't the only person who was given extraordinary abilities that night. The dark matter also created meta-humans - many of whom have wreaked havoc on the city. With the help of his new scientist friends at S.T.A.R Labs, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Dr. Harrison Wells, Barry begins a journey as The Flash to protect the people of Central City from these powerful new threats. However, Barry's mission gets sidetracked when he comes face to face with the Man in Yellow aka The Reverse Flash

Although only beginning to attract attention, Holly Almgren has been writing songs for 30+ years and grew up singing and playing guitar. The songs on this CD were written over the past four years and took wing in winter of 2010 when Holly joined forces with producer, singer, songwriter J.D. Steele in Minneapolis. J.D. put a stellar rhythm section together at Winterland Studios including his brother Billy Steele on grand piano, Yohannes Tona on electric bass, Billy Franze on acoustic guitar and Kevin Washington on drums. Except for the reeds and lap steel tracks, the entire CD was recorded in three three-day sessions between March and July 2010, with the players grooving & improvising to Holly's guitar arrangements of the tunes. Holly's lead vocals meld with backing vocals by Maria Benson and J.D., who arranged impressively lush vocal harmonies on the fly, an art honed over decades of experience singing with and arranging for his family The Steeles. We hope the listener enjoys the spontaneity and joie de vivre that arose in the studio making this CD. Back in her home town of Boston, Holly went into Larry Luddecke's studio Straight Up Music with old friend Stan Strickland, who recorded 9 tracks of saxophones and flutes, as well as 11 tracks of Kevin Barry's lap steel guitar. Holly sat back and enjoyed watching seasoned artists deliver soulful first and occasional second takes with sensitivity and glee. The CD was mixed and mastered back at Winterland in July, with the last song recorded being So Satisfied, written by Holly and J.D. two days before recording it. Holly would like to dedicate Daring to Feel Everything to her parents Ed and Nicky Almgren, who passed away four and two years ago, before this latest batch of songs came to fruition.
