Alle schönen Jungfrauen des Landes sind eingeladen, denn sein Sohn soll sich eine Gemahlin aussuchen. Die Stiefmutter und die Stiefschwestern wollen teilnehmen, aber sie möchten nicht, dass Aschenputtel mitgeht. Sie werfen ihm Linsen in die Asche. Diese soll sie wieder heraussuchen, und wenn sie mit der Arbeit fertig sei, dürfe sie mit. Aschenputtel bittet die Täubchen um Hilfe und schnell ist die Arbeit getan. Trotzdem will die Stiefmutter Aschenputtel nicht mitnehmen, weil das Mädchen nur alte schmutzige Kleider hat. Als sich die Stiefmutter mit ihren Töchter auf den Weg macht, eilt Aschenputtel zum Grab der Mutter. Der weiße Vogel bringt Aschenputtel schöne Schuhe, ein glänzendes Kleid aus Seide und bestickt mit Silber und da steht auch eine Kutsche mit prächtigen Pferden.
