Why does this Spin Spin Coupling EP have so many doggone songs on it? It would have been far more super nerdy if the answer derived from a physics function or some far-out mathematical proof, but it's essentially a matter of simple economics, yes, supply, demand, and adding value. , These fastidious fellows tinkered and fiddled with 'She Said' for so long that by the time it was ready to be pressed, SSC had 'sold out' of both it's debut record 'Days of Clouds EP,' and sophomore effort 'One Train May Hide Another.' , Al had grown weary of burning copies of 'Days,' and doing another small run of 'OTMHA' seemed illogical. , Since these recordings could be added in their entirety and without additional cost to the same plastic that would hold it's new creation 'She Said,' SSC decided to give you 17 songs for the price of an EP. , Further, they determined that this super EP could aptly serve as an SSC anthology, demonstrating the band's evolution from when it formed in Madison, Wisconsin in the summer of 2001 with aspirations of becoming an art rock power trio (featuring Jensen-style prog and a cyborg-like drummer who was, it seemed, experienced at every instrument but the drums), to the Sensitive Arena Rock juggernaut it is today. , Each EP is therefore presented here just as it was on the original, with no remixing or remastering, in part because Al and Eric managed to have simultaneous harddrive crashes resulting in the master for 'Days' being lost to the ether for eternity, and in part to showcase how much SSC has hopefully learned about the art of home recording since it's genesis. , We thought about re-recording some of our older tracks, but given that it took us well over a year to knock out six new ones, this was clearly a bad idea.
