ZAHARI METHCKOV Interested in 20th century music, Zahari Metchkov's programs include works by Messiaen, Debussy, Bartok, Schnittke, Crumb, Ligeti, Poulenc and Pärt. He has performed at New York's Avery Fisher Hall and Washington's Kennedy Center, as well as concerts in Israel, concerto and solo performances in Bulgaria, and numerous concerts in Ohio, Michigan, Texas, and New York. Zahari is currently serving on the theory faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music and has also served on the piano faculty of Youngstown State University and Fairmount School of Music. He is the founder and director of Cleveland based Ensemble Secundum Silentium as well as the Artistic adviser of the San Angelo Piano Festival, Texas. Mr. Metchkov is the Assistant Music Director/Organist of Epworth-Euclid United Methodist Church in University Circle, Cleveland. He holds BM, MM, and DMA performance degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied piano with Mr. Paul Schenly and Mr. Antonio Pompa-Baldi and organ with Mr. Todd Wilson.- Shop: odax
