Born in New York City in 1950, then growing up in White Meadow Lake, New Jersey, Bob Krinsky has a lifetime passion for songwriting under his belt. He has performed his songs in coffeehouses, clubs and festival stages from the Big Apple, New Jersey and the Catskills Mountains, to west coast venues such as the Oregon Country Fair, Seattle Folk Life Festival, Seattle Freemont Fair, Okanogan Family Fair, Vashon Island Earthfair, and other roots places. From 1980 through the early 90's Bob produced albums for the likes of jazz great Diane Schuur, blues legend Isaac Scott, and many other Northwest favorite sons and daughters. His work with Seattle area session musicians and artists led to a return to his roots as a songwriter and performing artist, working solo and in many band configurations including, Ricky Lee Bob, Rogues Gallery, Bobby's Mumbo Jumbo and others. Vashmakahn, Bob's first compact disc released in 1994, was featured on the cover of Soundlife Magazine, the entertainment magazine published by the Tacoma News Tribune. The title cut was a local mainstay on the rock/reggae club circuit. Bob's devotion to family including his wife Delilah and his children Jana, Ross and Ginger have kept Bob busy with other adventures, until finally, the upcoming release of his new compact disc, RADIO DADDYO, brings out ten fresh tunes for your enjoyment. The cut "Worser Things" is already reaching underground cult status, with requests for performances at the likes of Seattle Hempfest, Freemont Solstice Ball and at opening gigs for notables such as Railroad Earth. Bob lives with his family and many four legged pals at his spread on Vashon Island, Washington.

Annagail has always defied and stretched genres. Their latest EP, produced for Bigger Dog Productions by Nashville hit maker Keith Follese, (Emerson Drive, Everfound, Adam Gregory) is a four song glimpse into the collection of influences that come through in their songs. It perfectly captures the powerful dynamics they're known for. The production of this stellar project moves and builds each song into veritable anthems. The electronic flourishes of Peter Gabriel and Plumb meet the undeniable organic hooks of Sheryl Crow and Edwin McCain. Performing since '94, Annagail is more than just a group with six recordings and a strong fan base. They are the epitome of a band which continues to evolve instead of stagnate. A consistently busy concert schedule, Europe last year, a recent 2 week tour of South Africa this winter, their passion to take their music abroad is evidence of that. With national attention of their last two CD's through Grassroots Music, online and at concerts, they have found their way to radio stations and stores around the U.S. They've been featured on several regional and national compilations and have become an established act opening for artists such as Bleach, Plumb, Pillar, Jason Ingram, Scott Faircloff, The Appleseed Cast, Stavesacre and many, many others. Annagail is that rare band that can support a solo singer/songwriter and can just as comfortably hold their own playing festivals with heavy hitters or in an intimate setting leading worship. And, somehow, they make sense in all extremes. A blend of courage and frailty are embraced, and they're proud of both. They're completely capable of spanning the emotional gap from Saturday night to Sunday morning. Emerging from the 'songwriters circle' of the Midwest's music scene and playing colleges, coffeehouses, clubs, festivals and theaters, they honed their craft. Then came the release of 'Renaissance Recital,' the second album on 'Big Round Records' and the beginnings of moving into a full band. Their first album, 'The Folks,' quickly sold out it's original pressing. They followed with continued touring and growing popularity as a live act. Waterdeep's Don Chaffer produced Annagail's latest album 'Linger In Bloom' and also the previous 'Slightly Certain,' which featured Lori Chaffer's vocals on 'The Enemy and the Avenger.' These recordings have captured the attention of many. 'To any radio programmers play it, to any concert promoter book them, and to any record label sign them now. This is the real deal,' raved Levi Perkins of Crossroads radio. Tim Suttle of Satellite Soul described them as 'Someone who needs to be signed. They're hard workers and great songwriters.' Since that recording Annagail has continued to evolve, the result of over 500 shows across the U.S. They are often compared to the late Toad the Wet Sprocket, Ellis Paul, Eva Cassidy meets Vigilantes of Love and an occasional Goo Goo Dolls meets Edwin McCain hanging out with Aimee Mann. From '98 to '01, front man Jared Adams also toured the country playing lead guitar then bass for Ardent/Forefront recording artist Satellite Soul, friends from Kansas City. He appears on their Ardent release Satellite Soul Live. Opening and performing with Jennifer Knapp, Big Tent Revival, FFH, Audio Adrenaline and many others, Adams had the chance to showcase his own songs to great acclaim. Formally known as 'Route 3,' Annagail, fronted by the vocal and guitar interplay between Adams and wife Jennifer, is ready to envelope even greater opportunities with their music. From Adams troubadour style of the early 90's to Jennifer's touring with several vocal groups, her own singing career and even a tour of Europe, the results are rich. With a true and honest passion for people and music their goal reaches far beyond just playing the next gig. The Adams have never slowed in their healthy work ethic. Besides music, they currently also take part in the ownership of a family business and a non-profit, Havilah Recovery Solutions and Havilah Global. Through an amazing journey and testimony, they have found a way for all three to work together for compassionate outreach and greater purpose. They hope to make a difference in everyone they meet whether it's through song, a hand shake or a new face to put a name to. 'Although we love playing live, there is so much more to music than singing and playing,' says Adams. 'It builds a foundation to every new relationship and it gaps the bridges between the people that we don't yet know.' The soaring melodies can't hide the message in the lyrics crafted with grace. One concert goer said, 'They put their heart and soul into every song, I really appreciate that.' From the feed back, so do a lot of others. -Derek Emerson Hope College Arts Coordinator.

Jay Mankita ...'one of the half dozen best songwriters today!' - Pete Seeger A masterful guitarist and singer/songwriter - Jay Mankita is quirky, original, and rooted in the traditions of acoustic folk and Americana music, from blues to bluegrass, from ragtime to country swing. A natural entertainer, Jay has been playing in clubs, coffeehouses and festivals for over 25 years. His songs are journeys through the human condition, sung with honesty, compassion, and humorous insight. Jay's concerts are moving and intimate, provocative, irreverently funny, and musically refreshing. This album, 'Dog's Are Watching Us', is an album that really swings! It's a collection of live and studio cuts, a rousing and humorous collection of some of the funniest folk music today, both preposterous and political, from George Bush to Captain Kirk, from Illegal Aliens to the lighter side of Death, the true meaning of cliches, and the eternal hunger of dogs. Jay's songs have appeared in Sing Out! Magazine, been heard on both NPR and Pacifica Radio, and have been performed and recorded by national touring artists such as Kim and Reggie Harris, Magpie, Tony Barrand, Dean Stevens, Nancy Tucker, and Pat Humphries. Quotes: 'Jay's songs are thoughtful, humorous, provocative, and engaging. He reveals a great deal of feeling for serious issues, seasons them with a bit of humor, and weaves his own unique style of guitar playing throughout. Treat your audience to some Jay Mankita!' - Kate Patton, Director, Globe Theater '...he alternates complexity, simplicity, and hilarity, leading us to the most beautifully obvious conclusion, that we're all human, we're all in this together, and it's not so bad after all.' -Margie Rosenkrantz, Director, The Eighth Step ' ...The blending, in fact, is what makes Mankita such an outstanding performer . . . Even within individual verses of the same song, Mankita will shift his voice from a Brombergian growl to a soft and mellow falsetto, pull his tempo from allegretto to a dramatic legato, from Windham Hillian wallpaper background to a snapping fret-slapping blues style.' - Jeremy Bloom, Schenectady Daily Gazette '...Jay Mankita is a diamond in the rough' - The Woodstock Times.

Late Breaking News from Too Human 'New Surrender,' a track from the new Too Human CD, True, was chosen to be included on the 2nd compilation CD release from the Garland Appeal. It is scheduled for a Fall 2001 release and reportedly 20,000 copies are on advance order. The Garland Appeal was established to honor the memory of Linda McCartney and raise funds for cancer research. The first Garland Appeal release, A Garland for Linda, included Paul McCartney's choral piece, Nova, as well as works of eight other leading British composers. Too Human Bio Hailing from New York, both Ellen and Roger have had music in their lives from a very early age. Roger was an accordion virtuoso by the time he was 7 and Ellen was harmonizing by the age of 3. Over the years they both explored different musical genres and instruments, but what remained constant was singing, the song and the passion. They eventually became professional songwriters in Los Angeles, on staff with publishing giant Warner/Chappell Music, where they had their songs covered by a broad spectrum of recording artists including Cher, Pat Benatar, Teddy Pendergrass, Martha Davis, Angela Bofill, Anne Murray, and Nancy Wilson. When they moved back east and became Too Human, with Ellen on guitar, keyboards, and vocals and Roger on percussion, keyboards, and vocals, their diverse musical influences merged to create a sound that has been described as edgy, blues/jazz influenced contemporary folk. The songs are personal, topical and relevant in the singer/songwriter tradition, ranging from hilarious dog put downs, passionate love songs and self-discovery themes to issue oriented songs about homophobia, battered women and elephant slaughter -- all with gritty, heartfelt vocals, great harmonies and driving rhythms. Ellen's voice combines earthiness with sensuality, innocence, and passion. Roger's unusual percussion style and backing vocals complement her perfectly. As one reviewer has said, 'Ellen and Roger sound as if their souls are fully enmeshed in the material ...' In performance they are totally in sync with each other, creating a strong and intimate atmosphere. They perform regularly in the Northeast (The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC., The Bottom Line in New York, The Kendall Cafe in Boston, The Tin Angel in Philadelphia, and Danbury City Center in Danbury, CT, to name a few), and at schools, coffeehouses, clubs, civic concert series and outdoor venues such as Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, 4-H fairs and crafts fairs. They've opened for 10,000 Maniacs, Janis Ian, Martin Sexton, Livingston Taylor, Garnet Rogers, Kenny Rankin, Kim & Reggie Harris, Susan Werner, Jack Williams, Les Sampou, and Dave Mallett, and have shared the stage with David Amram, Mae Robertson and Eric Garrison, Dave's True Story, Bill Parsons, Holly Penfield, Trainwreck, Sloan Wainwright, and Wishing Chair. They have appeared live as featured artists on WFUV with Meg Griffin, WXPN with Gene Shay, WRPI with Sonny Ochs, WCUW with Richard Fox, WVIA with George Graham, WWUH with Ed McKeon, WRTC with Amy Jeffries, WHUS with John Sloan, and many others. Their debut CD, From There to Here, was critically acclaimed by Sing Out! Magazine and The Musician's Trade Journal -- described as 'An impressive, A+ debut!' and has gotten national and international radio play. They are currently working on a new CD, scheduled for an early spring, 2001 release.

Ileana, new to the Los Angeles area, writes music as layered and beautiful as the New Mexico desert she hails from with combinations of pop and folk. Recognition by the New Mexico Music Industry Awards for 'Best Musical Production-Adult Contemporary' for the song 'Barely' from her CD 'Counting Stars as They Fall' has only added to the inertia that this singer/songwriter brings with her from a successful career in the southwestern United States. With a voice described as 'electrically charged velvet,' she blends pop and folk to create music that has already garnered a large fan base in the Southwest. She continues that trend in Los Angeles by performing songs that emphasize the dichotomy of the human condition- the battles between intelligence and emotions and of the choices we make in embracing or rejecting the circumstances of our lives. She flows seamlessly from songs of hope to those of loss leaving the audience feeling as though the message was just for them. It was this strength in songwriting and performance which led her to be selected as the Albuquerque periodical Weekly Alibi's 'Best Female Vocalist,' 'Best Songwriter' and 'Musician of the Year.' H e r B a c k g r o u n d Ileana explored these emotions as a student of psychology and earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico. It was during this time that Ileana began to understand her passion for music and her need to express emotions through songwriting. Along this path she enjoyed a wide range of experiences, from lifeguard to waitress, crisis hotline to psychic hotline, each time glimpsing the diversity in people, each time returning her to her music. H e r H i's t o r y She began her professional career singing lead vocals with the band Ulterior Motive. That band broke up following a move to Austin, TX, just before they released their second LP titled '8minutes and 30 seconds.' Ileana then expanded her musical background by fronting the group Passion/Aggression with D. Whitten. This hard core venture released a two song demo in April (1997) comprised with Whitten's 'I Had Another Nightmare' and 'Cassandra Speaks,' both of which enjoyed radio airtime. She continued to develop her solo set and began playing coffeehouses and other small venues to a rapidly growing audience. Encouraged by her bolstering fan base she recorded a four-song demo in September (1998.) She assembled a talented group of musicians to record her first solo full length release 'Miles To Go' which was released in September (1999.) She continued to perform in intimate coffeehouse and bookstore settings as a solo acoustic artist while promoting her band and energetic stage show in bars and larger venues. 'Miles to Go' received radio airplay in local request shows and Ileana was asked numerous times to perform on local radio programs and music festivals. She took her acoustic show on the road to the Southwestern states of Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and California and the band hit the road to New Mexico cities and Texas. Each venue brought more fans to her music. Her audience includes fans from across the country and as far away as Italy and England. The release of her much anticipated new CD 'Counting Stars As They Fall' reaches toward the songwriting potential first hinted at in 'Miles To Go'. Ileana's storytelling captures the imagination of the listener and then frees it to explore avenues undreamed of. 'Counting Stars As They Fall' is a kaleidoscope of emotion with songs like 'Before You Knew' which captures the panic and joy of a budding relationship and 'Barely' which is reminiscence at the realization that a relationship is over. As mentioned previously, 'Barely' has already received recognition from the New Mexico Music Industry Awards by being named the 'Best Musical Production' in the Adult Contemporary category. 'I Would,' another song from this CD, was nominated as a finalist in the 'Best Song' category. This attention reflects what fans have already discovered- Ileana is quite an impressive artist. The success of this release prompted her to relocate to Los Angeles, California to expose a new audience to her music. To celebrate her impending relocation, she released 'Playing Solo' in December (2001,) a 12 song live acoustic CD titled 'Playing Solo', a compilation of performances from a variety of acoustic venues in her hometown of Albuquerque. A true native Wisconsinite, Neara Russell was born in a pickup truck, raised on cheddar cheese, and homeschooled in a rural log cabin between cornfields and cow fields. Her parents encouraged her to sing, dance, act, and play piano in an accelerated curriculum of music and academics. By the age of five, she was comfortably performing on stage. At seven, she started serious music studies with her father as teacher. She accompanied choirs, sang in musicals, and earned a wall full of awards with piano, voice, bass clarinet and xylophone. When a statewide contest for composers caught her eye at age thirteen, she wrote her first classical song. Soon after winning the contest, original rock songs came pouring out. Her parents' living room became a sonic laboratory, where she twisted words with keyboard riffs and experimented with production techniques at all hours. Her exceptional talents grabbed the attention of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was chosen from a field of 3,700 applicants nationwide to receive a full-ride Presidential Scholarship at age seventeen. As a piano/voice and composition honors student at Berklee, Russell has unstoppable momentum in both classical and rock genres. She has composed pieces for the Boston String Quartet, Madison Youth Choirs, and Berklee Contemporary Chamber Music Ensemble, performed in clubs, coffeehouses, student showcases (including concerts in the 1200-seat Berklee Performance Center), corporate events, television shows, and a sound sculpture, and contributed her musical signature to countless recording sessions. Through her diverse accomplishments, Russell has one defining focus: rock music, which she composes, produces, and records herself. Her live show features Russell as lead vocalist/keyboardist and musical mastermind.
