Listeners of Princess were gripped by Jean Sasson's powerful indictment of women's lives behind the veil. Now, in the compelling sequel, Jean Sasson and Princess Sultana turn the spotlight on Sultana's two teenage daughters, Maha and Amani. As second-generation members of the royal family who have benefited from Saudi oil wealth, Maha and Amani are surrounded by untold opulence and luxury from the day they were born. And yet, they are stifled by the unbearably restrictive lifestyle imposed on them, driving them to desperate measures. Throughout, Sultana and Sasson never tire of their quest to expose the injustices which society levels against women. Princess Sultana once more strikes a chord among all women who are lucky enough to have the freedom to speak out for themselves. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Catherine Byers. Baptized by the trials and tribulations of life, Dr. Teresa A. Smith (Dr. TAS) is a crusader for “messy people” - that is people who recognize their mess and are working diligently to not be stifled by their circumstances. Despite being sexually abused and bullied by both adults and peers, Dr. TAS did not adopt a victim mentality. Driven by possibilities instead of impacted by circumstances, Dr. TAS achieved with distinction a doctor of education degree in education leadership from Virginia’s Liberty University. Dr. TAS travels across the country providing cultural competency training to youth groups, school counselors, superintendents and school boards assistance, schools, public and private mental health providers, social services employees, family advocates, and juvenile court personnel. She is truly driven to help others create a better life for themselves and their families. Dr. TAS is also a sought-after speaker, coach, and consultant. ungekürzt. Language: English. Thoroughly modern Lizzy. A decade after Darcy's ill-fated proposal at Hunsford, Lizzy is a modern woman teaching music at a progressive school. She is shocked when one of her newest pupils is Anne-Marie Darcy, daughter of the man who once loved her so reluctantly. She quickly adores his daughter, and her stifled affection for the man is stirring to life anew as well.  The more time she spends with him, the more she sees a new side of Fitzwilliam. He is a changed man, influenced by a decade of loss and his brief marriage to Anne. One thing remains unchanged, and that is his love for her. The timing was all wrong ten years ago, but can they finally get it right this time?  While Abbey sometimes writes steamy jaff, this is strictly sweet. ungekürzt. Language: English. Centuries after a ragtag group of scientists and their believers took refuge unground, humans have far surpassed their hopes of mere survival. Terrenus is now a prosperous civilization, where manners, polite society, and well-ordered magic reign. Kai Stephenson has always been dangerously curious, and it has always landed her in trouble. Stifled by the expectations of what is good and proper for a young lady, she has never outgrown her unruly, bold ideas. Determined to prove her magical theory, she enrolls in the most prestigious magic university in Terrenus, rather than the finishing school her parents think they are sending her to. The fact that she must masquerade as a man to attend the all-men’s college seems only a minor inconvenience, at first. But in a society with strict rules on how the sexes interact, Kai’s inexperience leaves her entirely unprepared.  ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Sean Lenhart. This book explores how law and policy makers within the Southern African Development Community regional structure might reform the legal and regulatory frameworks to best capitalise the benefits of the movement of people, drawing lessons from other experienced jurisdictions by critically engaging with the regulatory efforts and approaches in regions such as the European Union, the Economic Community of West African States, and the East African Community to propose a revised approach to migration governance and practice in the SADC. Deeper regional integration allows citizens to move freely across national boundaries, and services are a rising component of global trade and investment. However, global trade in services is stifled by barriers at and behind the border. These barriers make it difficult for service providers from developing regions to access key markets in their preferred modes of service trade. Against this background, this book aims to take the discussion on furthering regional integration and trade through the movement of people by tackling issues on stringent immigration policies, arguing that having a vibrant and rewarding trade in services will require an approach towards the unrestricted movement of persons.
