Vielen Menschen im Hunsrück ist nach dem Abzug der US-Army schlagartig wieder bewusst geworden, dass sie in einer Gegend zu Hause sind, die schon seit eh und je etwas abseits liegt, Rhein, Mosel und Nahe - und wenn man es etwas großzügiger sieht, auch noch die Saar: In dem von diesen Flüssen abgesteckten Viereck liegt der Hunsrück. Ein von kraftstrotzenden Äckern geprägtes Hochplateau, eingeschnittene Täler, die immer noch Entdeckungen sind und den Reiz dieser Landschaft ausmachen, Industrie gibt es kaum.
