"Sprinter" ist das zweite Album von Mackenzie Scott alias Torres. Um neue Eindrücke zu verarbeiten, verließ Torres ihre Heimat Nashville und nahm erste Klang-Skizzen in Bridport/England auf. Mit diesen Skizzen zog sie dann ins Studio von Adrian Utley (Portishead) in Bristol, um mit ihm gemeinsam das Album einzuspielen und zu produzieren. Adrian Utleys Gitarren- und Synthesizer-Spiel veredelt die Kompositionen. Zudem lud man sich Robert Ellis und Ian Olliver von PJ Harveys Band ein, die das Ensemble für diese Aufnahmen vervollständigen. Die 23-jährige Mackenzie Scott bezeichnet ihr neues Werk als "Space Cowboy-Record", womit sie die Kombination von traditionellen und futuristischen musikalischen Elementen meint.
