2018 Château Haut-Bailly CRU CLASSÉ PESSAC-LÉOGNAN A.C.
Decanter: 98/100 Punkte »This is a serious 2018, structured, layered and full of Haut-Bailly signature. The texture is striking, with the silkiness emphasised by a pH of 3.87 and a relatively high alcohol that is effortlessly integrated into the body of the wine. The complexity builds slowly through the palate but the persisting feeling is of menthol, a lifting off and peeling back of the intensity, revealing the fresher more nuanced notes underneath. There's a lot of the 2015 character here, in terms of its enjoyable structure and generous fruit, but it's more like 2016 in its serious finish, and there's no question that this will age well. The IPT is 86, more than the 84 measured in the 2010, but you don't feel it in the same way here. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend, co-fermented with Petit Verdot because they like the balance that it gives. 21hl/ha yield. Drinking Window 2027 - 2042« James Suckling: 97-98/100 Punkte »Incredible depth of fruit to this with a center palate that shows superb character and texture. I love the hazelnut and coffee-bean undertones to the beautiful fruit, which shows great finesse. Full-bodied yet compact and tight, giving a sense of agility and flight to the wine. Extremely tight and polished tannins.« Falstaff: 97/100 Punkte »Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Dunkles Beerenkonfit, schwarze Kirschen, etwas Cassis, feine Edelholznuancen, zarte Kräuterwürze. Stoffig, engmaschige Textur, extraktsüß, präsente, vollreife Tannine, dezente Säurestruktur, verfügt über große Länge, ein kraftvoller Speisenbegleiter mit sicherem Entwicklungspotenzial.« Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 96-98+/100 Punkte »The 2018 Haut-Bailly is blended of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Grapes were harvested September 17 to October 9, and the wine has 14.4% alcohol. Deep purple-black in color, it opens slowly with profound notions of Black Forest cake, crème de cassis, roasted nuts and black olives, unfurling to reveal notions of menthol, crushed rocks, molten licorice and chargrilled meat plus a hint of lilacs. Full-bodied, rich and densely laden with layer upon layer of vibrant black fruits and mineral nuances, it has a solid backbone of firm, velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long with compelling restraint and exciting energy.« Wine Enthusiast: 95-97/100 Punkte »Barrel Sample. This wine initially seems easy and just packed with fruit. As you delve behind the black fruits, the tannins come into play. The considerable structure shows concentration with a dense side that has power and a lighter side that has fresh fruit. The wine should age impressively.« Weinwisser: 19+/20 »55 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 35 % Merlot, 5 % Cabernet Franc, 5 % Petit Verdot, 21 hl/ha, 60 % Grand Vin.

The Stuff of Stars
The 2019 Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award Winner In an astonishing unfurling of our universe, Newbery Honor winner Marion Dane Bauer and Caldecott Honor winner Ekua Holmes celebrate the birth of every child. Before the universe was formed, before time and space existed, there was . . . nothing. But then . . . BANG! Stars caught fire and burned so long that they exploded, flinging stardust everywhere. And the ash of those stars turned into planets. Into our Earth. And into us. In a poetic text, Marion Dane Bauer takes readers from the trillionth of a second when our universe was born to the singularities that became each one of us, while vivid illustrations by Ekua Holmes capture the void before the Big Bang and the ensuing life that burst across galaxies. A seamless blend of science and art, this picture book reveals the composition of our world and beyond — and how we are all the stuff of stars.- Shop: buecher

Pushed , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 465min
I never thought I could love a monster. Then I met Machi. I shouldn't have been there that night. I shouldn't have seen that man die - or the face of his killer. Every part of me wanted to run and hide, to escape and forget what I saw. But then he caught me. He stole me and pushed me into his world. He said if I listened to him, he could give me what I wanted...my freedom. He forgot to mention that freedom comes with a price. I'm going to be auctioned off and there's nothing I can do to change that. He wants me to believe that he isn't the bad guy. But I know better. Except...his hard jaw and full lips are hard to ignore, his voice makes my heart flutter, and his hands - his hands are purely toxic, unfurling my body with one touch. He's a monster, and monsters lie. They lurk in the dark and rain hell on your soul. I never thought that loving one was possible. Until I met him. Note from the author: Pushed is a full-length, dark romance novel with no cliffhanger. This book has material that could make some uncomfortable. It's gritty and raw in the best way, but you won't know until you step in and listen to it for yourself. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Aiden Snow, Sienna Voss. 2016 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2. Grand Cru Classé Pauillac A.C.
Weinwisser: 20/20 Punkte “… (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 40 hl/ha) Frisches, elegantes, feingliedriges, dichtes, komplexes Bouquet, Heidelbeeren, schwarzer Cassis, Korinthen, fein Lakritze, Minze, Pralinen. The 2016 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is blended of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in 60% new oak. Deep purple-black in color, it is a little mute, slowly unfurling to reveal a core of crushed blackcurrants, blueberry compote and black raspberries with nuances of cinnamon stick, violets, star anise, menthol and pencil shavings plus a waft of fallen leaves. Medium-bodied and super intense in the mouth, the palate bursts with black fruits and savory layers, complemented by red fruit sparks and framed by fantastically ripe, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long with a lingering suggestion of minerality." Trinkgenuss: 2023 bis 2058 Decanter: 98/100 Punkte "Cabernet dominant, it's very Pauillac in style and totally lives up to its en primeur promise. The tannins deepen and tighten and here we are, smack-bang in the northern Médoc. This is youthful, rich, powerful and intense; very good quality. It gets better and better as you return to it, and I'm really impressed with the texture and depth of the silky-smooth palate: pure cassis notes alongside hawthorn, hedgerow and liquorice. Matured in 60% new oak." Trinkgenuss: 2026 bis 2045 James Suckling: 98/100 Punkte "Glorious aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and flowers, from violets to roses. Iron and rust undertones. Full-bodied, dense and very layered with loads of richness. It goes on for minutes. Reminds me of the 1986. Best in decades? Take a first look at it in 2025." Antonio Galloni vinous: 97-100/100 Punkte "A deeply emotional, moving wine, the 2016 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is simply extraordinary. The tannins are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit, while the 100% new oak is remarkably well integrated at this stage. Dark, powerful and brooding, the 2016 possesses remarkable polish for such a big wine. The purity of the flavors is simply captivating. Scents of graphite, smoke, leather, tobacco and menthol soar from the glass, enhancing a core of deep, plush, dark fruit. All the elements fuse together in a wine of nearly unparalleled beauty. Although not inexpensive, Pichon-Lalande is arguably the single finest relative value in ageworthy wine in Bordeaux right now. Readers should do whatever they can to pick up the 2016. It is without question one of the wines of the vintage and potentially a legendary wine in the making. Tasted three wines." Wine Spectator: 97/100 Punkte "Saturated with dark currant, fig and blackberry compote flavors, this has a fleshy, nearly glycerin feel at first before stretching out to reveal singed cedar, tobacco leaf, dark earth and cassis bush flavors. A terrific tug of cast iron emerges at the very end. Deliciously juicy dark fruit keeps rolling throughout." Trinkgenuss: 2025 bis 2040 Wine Enthusiast: 96-98/100 Punkte "Dense tannins and dark fruits are just a part of this wine's complex character. It is ripe, full of blackberries, yet solid, with a structure that balances the fruit. It should age extremely well; be ready be prepared to hold this for 15 years or more."
