Coma Savant
* 'carnival calliopes, decadent lounge, hints of Kurt Weill colliding with Frank Zappa and The Roches.' -- Goldmine Formed in the fall of 2001, The Coma Savants (formerly Your Mom and Your Mom SRO) are a garage-cabaret-circus-rock band known for their high energy theatrical shows. The Coma Savants were founded by Stephanie Rearick and Jon Hain, owners of Mother Fool's, Madison's independent coffeehouse and east-side cultural hub. Stephanie Rearick, the band's principal writer, is respected as a virtuosic pianist. Rearick's sophomore solo release, The Bucket Rider, is due out late this Spring on Hain and Rearick's Uvulittle Records. It is self-recorded and produced, and showcases her newer solo work and some of the pieces from the film L'Inhumaine.
