Four guys have been friends since childhood. As 10-year olds, they had taken an oath of secrecy vowing that no matter what they would never squeal on one another. Though very different personalities, they were tight with one another. At 30-something, they find themselves living in Manhattan at the same time and plan a reunion of their secret club. Once they have caught up on their lives, they decide to maintain contact with one another to play racquetball. On one occasion at the court they befriend Raul Cabrera, a handsome and very prosperous Argentinian who is in the import-export business of antiquities and ancient relics. Raul invites his new buddies and their wives to a party at his luxurious Fifth Avenue penthouse apartment, where they meet Raul's exotic, sensuous, and beguiling Brazilian wife, Sasha. All four buddies are immediately smitten with Sasha and become hypnotized by her beauty and vixen-like appeal. Sasha begins to play them all independently right from the beginning. First she seduces Roy, followed in succession by Billy, Sam, and Joey. They all fall under her spell as she works them for her own ends. She convinces each of them that she is in love with them, that Raul is a dangerous drug dealer who commands an army of murderous thugs, and that her life is in danger. She wants to leave him but is afraid. Each of the buddies believes that he is special and will do whatever he can to protect her with the expectation that she will go off with him once she divorces Raul. They are willing to sacrifice their friendships, their marriages, and their careers for the sultry Sasha, each feeling that he is the chosen one. When Raul falls from the balcony of their opulent high-rise apartment at a party he hosted, the buddies become suspects. Through the police investigation that ensues after Raul's death, they learn that Sasha is the kingpin in a drug cartel, and they realize that they were all used for her nefarious purposes. Aye-Aye doesn't mean to be naughty. He can't help himself. Or can he? Aye-Aye is an endangered lemur who loves pulling pranks on the villagers of Madagascar. He loves it when they squeal, but mostly he loves it when they huck their yummy meals at him. Until one day, they decide enough is enough and ban him from the village! Poor Aye-Aye is lonely and hungry and desperate to find a way to win back their hearts and clear his name. But how can he when he doesn't understand where he went wrong? Luckily, a friendly flying fox swoops in to teach Aye-Aye a lesson and helps him to understand how his trickster ways made the people feel. Can Aye-Aye find a way to prove to the villagers that he's changed? Will they give him a second chance? Will you? On the surface, "Aye-Aye Gets Lucky" is about a misunderstood lemur finding a way to win love, but look deeper, and it's a story about empathy, self-acceptance, community, and second chances. Kids love the fact-filled spread at the end of the story where they can learn about the aye-aye and flying fox, ways to help endangered animals, and even how to draw them! Endangered & Misunderstood is an ongoing series of children's picture books that takes a different approach to the serious subject of lesser-known endangered animals, with an emphasis on laughter, adventure, and themes everyone can relate to. Buy "Aye-Aye Gets Lucky" to help this endangered lemur turn his luck around. All proceeds go towards the protection and conservation of endangered lemurs, just like Aye-Aye.

"Couldn't put it down." -Nicholas Pileggi, author of Wiseguy (Goodfellas) and Casino The extraordinary life and times of a legendary crime boss who refused to squeal-but who finally agreed to talk to an award-winning New York Newsday reporter shortly before his death at age 103 . . . John "Sonny" Franzese reportedly committed his first murder at the age of fourteen. As a "made man" for the Colombo crime family, he operated out of his Long Island home specializing in racketeering, fraud, loansharking, and other illicit deeds he would deny to his dying day. His career in organized crime spanned over eight decades-and he was sentenced to fifty years in prison for robbery charges. But even behind bars, Sonny Franzese never stopped doing business . . . This is the true story of an old-school mafioso as it's never been told before. Newsday reporter S. J. Peddie interviewed Franzese in prison-and uncovered a lifetime of shocking secrets from the legend himself: * Why FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had a very personal interest in Sonny. * How Sonny managed to juggle numerous affairs with women, including a famous model. * How Sonny spent a third of his life in prison-and still managed to earn untold millions for the mob. * How Sonny accidentally revealed some of his worst crimes-to a "friend" wearing a wire. Through it all, Franzese refused to break the Mafia's code of silence. Authorities believe he may have murdered, or ordered the murders of, forty to fifty people. Yet he earned a grudging respect from law enforcement and an absolute reverence from his fellow gangsters. Eventually he managed to outlive them all-until his death in 2020 of natural causes, a rare event in the Mafia. Thanks to a series of exclusive firsthand interviews, the astonishing life story of John "Sonny" Franzese can be told in all its bold, brutal, and blood-spattered glory. This is a must-read for anyone fascinated with Mafia history-and a rare look inside a criminal mind that has become the stuff of legend.

My heartbeat's increasing and breathing is hard. As I'm kneeling to God I'm concealing my scars. Revealing my bars in a squeal from afar. The feeling of a heathen really affects who you are. The pain and the agony... The anger in his eyes is strangling his cries. This moment is the perfect time for him to die. Goodbye... Like Samantha Caine, I'm ready for the long kiss goodnight. I'm a beast... Someone's been tampering with life. Dangle at an angle, 'cause I'm wrangling with Christ. Jangling in fright because I'm tangling with knives. Take advantage of my fangs once I'm struck by the light. It's a full-moon... I'm evolving at a quick pace. A thick layer of shade surrounds the space. Around the birthplace of a beast that don't exist in the first place. The worst case of failure within a human's brain. Unleash The Beast...
