This is an excerpt from an article in the July 18, 2001 Macon Telegraph written by Ed Grisamore : When Skeebo Knight was a kid, every entrance to Wimbish Woods was the gate to the Magic Kingdom. 'It was a magical place to grow up,' he said. ' We were lucky to be there, and all the other families who lived there felt the same way. Our neighbors were more like kinfolk.' When he picked up drumsticks and started laying down the grooves for his new jazz CD, he remembered the rhythms of his heart. He remembered his lifelong friends.' I wanted this to be a tribute to a great neighborhood, ' he said. He is understandably proud of ' Tales from Wimbish Woods. ' His old neighborhood should be proud of him. It is a musical highway through those teen-age wonder years, when Skeebo could be found tapping on any surface within striking distance of his drumsticks. A number of his talented buddies contributed to the Wimbish Woods tracks, Tim Brooks, Miguel Castro, Marshall Coats, Elbert Durham, Neal Fountain, Marcus Henderson, John Landrum, Chuck Leavell, Count M' Butu, Adam Mewherter, Neil Rigole, and Jimmy Waters.
