Several years of creative collaborations with other artists, on stage and in the studio, allowed Mark Schwander and Stefan Konstantopoulos to find their common interests. However, crystalization of a common creative vision was not fully realized until they were separated by over 2,000 miles. Against some odds, Mark and Stefan developed a unique method of remote collaboration that led to their first single 'Unto' in 2012. (The single was chosen by designer Seth Aaron for use in Project Runway All-Stars in 2013.) A few months later, collaborating with Rod Tucker of Josephine Ocean and The Advisors, Mark and Stefan released a two-song single called Nominal. In late 2012, Mark and Stefan began developing material for what is now the Exchange EP - which includes a refreshed mix of the 'Unto' single. 'Clockwise' is a playful, melodic piece that hints at older material from Kraftwerk, Yello and Boards of Canada. 'Linger' hints at some periods of work by Moby, with some of the texture and vibe of Mezzanine by Massive Attack. 'Oracle' runs parallel to 'Unto' with it's raw textures and drive. 'Aviv' is more of an epic presentation, containing atmospheric and rhythmic passages that evoke a range of emotions and imagery. 'Vole' returns to a more light-hearted energy, with playful tones and textures that hint at works by Gary Numan, Autechre and Orbital. 'Pekoe' winds down the EP as a sparkling, ambient interlude that gently eases the listener into reflective silence. All songs written and produced by Mark Schwander and Stefan Konstantopoulos.
