Several schools of Zen developed in China in the 9th century. The Rinzai (Chinese, Lin-chi) sect of Zen was introduced to Japan by the Chinese priest Ensai in 1191. Rinzai Buddhism emphasizes the use of koans, paradoxical puzzles or questions that help the practitioner to overcome the normal boundaries of logic. Koans are often accompanied by shouts or slaps from the master, intended to provoke anxiety, leading to instant realization of the truth. These teachings influenced the warrior class and led to a Zen influence over the martial arts of archery and swordsmanship. Soto Buddhism (Chinese, Ts'ao-tung) is another Zen sect that was transmitted from China to Japan. It arrived in Japan in 1227 upon the teacher Dogen's return from China. Soto emphasizes zazen, or sitting meditation, as the means to attain enlightenment. The Soto practitioner is encouraged to clear the mind of all thoughts and concepts, without making any effort towards enlightenment, until enlightenment occurs. Whatever the method of reaching enlightenment, once reached we realize the state of enlightenment we sought was there within us all along. The method is the gate, but there need not be any gate, since the gate is always open. This is the gateless gate. Now, let us enter the Gateless Gate. ungekürzt. Language: English. Just Make Time is the concept of systematically selecting the things that matter most and learning to eliminate the things that detract from your success. It is NOT about managing time or learning to use a calendar system. Instead, it is about learning to identify what matters the most and make that a part of your everyday life. This concept is a model for living the life that you have always wanted to live. It is a principle that successful people live by and that anyone can learn. This book will end up saving you significant amounts of time when you apply the principles that are taught throughout the nine chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction to the concept. Elaine Hand, who introduced me to the idea through coaching, talks about the need to fundamentally shift our focus onto what gets results. Chapter 2 is the Wheel of Life. This lines out the five categories for your life focus. Chapter 3 helps you understand how to do what you have to do. Succeeding in accomplishing your daily objectives is a matter of habit, and it is important to learn the right habits of success. Chapter 4 describes the changing world and helps you to understand how and why a better model for making time for what matters most is critical. It helps you create your personal ammunition for change. Chapter 5 is about not being average. By understanding some very simple things that are directly within your control, you can modify the things that consume you and protect your time. This chapter helps you understand the easy ways to Just Make Time for what matters most. Chapter 6 is about killing procrastination. Using just a few strategies, you can propel yourself toward right action. Chapter 7 outlines the 80-20 rule and helps you choose the 20% of things that produce 80% of results. Chapter 8 tells the story of "big rocks" and outlines what to put into your life first. The final chapter discusses the one thing th ungekürzt. As the stories of the Bible are read in awe, God’s hand of mercy often goes unnoticed within the context of the phenomenal. One of those instances can be found when observing the life of Cain.He was the firstborn son, the first procreated human being of the first man and woman of time, Adam and Eve.Remarkable as that is, he is most infamously known for being the first murderer on Earth.Cain’s jealousy led to rebellion which led to a violent act that ended the life of his brother, Abel. The unfolding drama put an unsettling mark on him in our minds, but where sin abounds, grace much more abounds.Cain certainly deserved God’s judgment, but Cain was not immediately struck down just as he had done so to his brother.Instead, God placed a mark on Cain to warn all who crossed his path that God himself would avenge his death seven-fold should anyone attempt to kill him.God gave Cain the Mark of Mercy. The very first son of man got to learn firsthand of our father's unconditional love. Our creator won't leave us in our sin. No matter how many times we ignore his call or rebel against his loving-kindness, he will not give up on us.He desires not for us to die in our sins.God takes the foolishness of this world to confound the wise. His mercies are anew daily. ungekürzt. Described by Radio Times as "a brilliant observer of the domestic scene, a master reporter of life as we know it", Al Read's weekly show drew audiences of 35 million during the 1950s and 60s. Born in Salford in 1909, Al started life as a sausage manufacturer, having inherited the family's meat-processing factory. His comedy developed from his sales patter and after-dinner speeches, and he described his humour as "pictures of life". He drew on his working-class roots to come up with catchphrases such as "Right Monkey" and "You'll be lucky, I'll say, you'll be lucky". The rich Northern humour stands the test of time, as this collection of four shows from the 50s hilariously demonstrates. Language: English. Narrator: uncredited.
