    Ein französischer Wein aus dem Jahre 2015, genauer gesagt eine trockene Rotwein-Cuvée vom Château Arnauld, der dem Stile eines Grand Crus des Médoc entspricht. In der Mitte des berühmten Dreiecks Margaux, Moulis und Saint Julien entsteht dieser rubinrote Bordeaux aus den klassischen Rebsorten Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und Petit Verdot. Der biologische Anbau und dessen Werte stehen bei der Bewirtschaftung im Weinberg und der Produktion im Keller an erster Stelle. Das gelungene, hoch konzentrierte Meisterwerk glänzt mit üppigen Aromen von roten Früchten, wie Kirsche und verschiedenen Beerenfrüchte. Der Ausbau im Holz sorgt für feine rauchige und würzige Noten, sowie einen Hauch Schokolade. Die gut eingebundene Tanninstruktur sorgt für Körper und in Verbindung mit den ausgeprägten Aromen für eine ausgezeichnete Harmonie. Alles in allem weißt er ein hohes Reifepotential auf, weshalb ihm ein paar Jahre in Ihrem Keller nur zugutekommen werden. Ein noch relativ junger Wein aus dem Jahr 2015 aber schon ausgezeichnet wie seine großen und älteren Mitbewerber. Der renommierte Weinjournalist James Suckling vergab bereits hoch verdiente 94 Punkte an den Jungspund. Cassis and blackberry notes are delivered with precision, but there is a clear restraint that is another signature of 2017, and perhaps doesn´t reflect Mouton´s personality as much as some of its neighbours. This First Growth is driven by the Cabernet Sauvignon, as you would expect given the high percentage, expressive pencil lead and cedar that infuse the slightly introspective black fruit. Dare I say that it actually reminds me of Latour in style? The palate is medium-bodied, finely tuned and precise, a more masculine Mouton-Rothschild compared to the last three vintages, fresh with a sustained, lightly spiced finish that lingers in the mouth. That backbone is accentuated more during my second visit in mid-April. It is a cliché but this Mouton-Rothschild is unashamedly “classic” in style, perchance “le petit frère” of the 2010 MoutonRothschild that also contained a lot of Cabernet Sauvignon (though before you search the archives, yes, the 2011 and 2012 contained the same proportion!)
