    Über CHUCK BERRY muss man nicht viele Worte verlieren. Er ist der wohl größte Innovator des Rock &amp, Roll. Berry schrieb nicht nur die eindrucksvollsten Titel dieser Ära, er war auch musikalischer Stichwortgeber für viele britische Beatgruppen in den 1960er Jahren, denkt man nur an die Beatles und Rolling Stones. Etliche Titel von Chuck Berry gehörten nicht nur zum Live-Repertoire dieser Gruppen, sie sind in vielen Fällen auch auf deren Platten zu finden. LARRY WILLIAMS ist etwas weniger prominent, hier kann man allerdings hören, dass auch er Lieferant etlicher Hits für den Beat Boom war: "Bad Boy", "Dizzy Miss Lizzy", "Slow Down" sind Williams-Titel, die etwa die Beatles gecovert haben. Seine Karriere war leider nur kurz - er beging mit nur 45 Jahren Selbstmord. LLOYD PRICE begann seine musikalische Laufbahn bereits in den frühen 1950er Jahren und war lange Zeit Dauergast in den amerikanischen R&amp,B- und Popcharts. Weltweit bekannt wurde Lloyd Price durch seine Chartbuster "Personality" und "Stagger Lee", die hier natürlich auch verewigt sind. LITTLE RICHARD war durch seine wilde Performance und etliche Rock&amp,Roll-Hits bereits Ende der 1950er Jahre zu einer weltweiten Attraktion geworden. Viele "Nachfolger" spielten seine Titel und machten selbst Karriere. Auf den hier enthaltenen LPs ist seine wilde Zeit eindrucksvoll und vollständig dokumentiert. Später wechselte Little Richard das Genre und verschrieb sich dem Gospel. Aber auch er war Vorbild für die nachfolgende BeatGeneration - gesanglich besonders für Paul McCartney. Last but not least kommen wir zu BO DIDDLEY. Er entwickelte einen völlig neuen Stil der Rock &amp, Roll Musik. Sein stakkatohafter Gitarrenstil ist zwar ziemlich einseitig, wird aber trotzdem nie langweilig. Auch Bo Diddley wurde ein Vorbild für einige Beatgruppen, die den R&amp,B-Sound bevorzugten. Deren Stil bezeichnete man gern als "Blue-Eyed Soul". Hier sind alle wichtigen Titel von Bo Diddley versammelt.
