The Heart Sutra, originally a very short set of verses, was given in privacy as a message to one of Buddha's close disciples, Sariputra, specifically addressed to him. Over time the Heart Sutra became one of Buddhism's core teachings. In these 10 talks, Osho presents the powerful message of these ancient words and brings them to a modern audience - one with different minds and needs than the original audiences of Buddha more than 2,500 years ago. Osho's message is not about Buddha the historical figure; instead he addresses his listeners and encourages them to discover their own inner realities, their own buddhahood. Like Buddha's, Osho's message is about meditation and meditation alone - "rely only on your meditation and nothing else". Osho also speaks on the seven chakras, the energy centers of the human body, and their corresponding relationships to the physical, psychosomatic, psychological, psychospiritual, spiritual, spiritual-transcendental, and transcendental aspects of human growth and consciousness. Osho sees Zen not as a historical spiritual tradition but as the future spirituality of a humanity that has matured to the point that people no longer need religions controlled by priesthoods and based on fearful superstitions that cripple people's innate intelligence and divide them from one another. This series of talks offers a deeper understanding of the underlying differences between Eastern and Western approaches to religion and the nature of consciousness. It's a beautiful introduction to a world where each individual has the capacity for an instant and profound understanding of existence and a rebirth of the trust in life that each of us is born with. Dang Dang Doko Dang represents the sound of the drum beaten by a Zen master in an existential lesson for a disciple. As well as symbolizing the poetic quality of Zen, the title represents the special flavor of this collection of Osho's commentaries on well-known Zen stories. This volume is part of the Osho Classics series and also includes Osho's responses to questions about the meditation technique of Zazen. Language: English. Narrator: Osho. Osho speaks about the great harm that all organized religions have done to humanity by dividing man against himself, by creating a division between head and heart. Osho's meditations are designed to heal these wounds and bring about a return to a natural state of self-integration. Language: English. Narrator: OSHO. The questioning mind is the problem, not the question. When no questions arise, that non-questioning consciousness is the answer to all questions. Crisis is a very valuable time. When everything is in chaos, nothing is static, nothing is secure. Who knows what is going to happen next? In such a chaotic moment you are free, you can change. You can escape from your inner prison and attain to the innermost core of your being. In times of great crisis enlightenment is more accessible. The time can be used for your individual growth. Osho's emphasis is always on individual transformation: rather than changing political systems, change yourself. Unless you change, nothing changes. Language: English. Narrator: OSHO. Ten talks based on the natural, magical wisdom inherent in the songs of the Bauls of Bengal, those "delicious madmen, mystics, fools and poets". Osho also responds to seekers' questions, and no matter what the question may be, the answers he gives always convey the trust, oneness, and love experienced by the Bauls. Osho says of the Bauls: "Theirs is the path of the dancer, the singer, and the aesthetic man." The essence of their religion is revealed in their song: "Only the connoisseur of the flavors of love can comprehend the language of a lover's heart." These talks will introduce you to the Baul's vision of "the essential man", the god who lives within us all, and Osho's vision of the body and human consciousness. Language: English. Narrator: Osho. Sufism is the mystical dimension of the Islamic faith. Osho clarifies the Sufi approach to religiosity, which is to become part of the mystery of existence by living meditatively, being total and transcending experience itself. Osho distills the essence of Sufism, not to inform you about the state of mysticism, but to create a situation in which you can discover the mystic within yourself. These remarkable discourses are original, live recordings made during Osho's extemporaneous daily talks to audiences of disciples and visitors at his meditation retreat in Poona, India. His talks were, and continue to be, central to his work as a mystic trying to find ways to share his experience. And as you listen to this great teacher, you too will enter a state of meditative awareness that will bring you to a new understanding of this ancient pathway into the wonders and mysteries of existence. Osho is an enlightened mystic whose spontaneous talks to disciples and friends have been transcribed and published in more than 650 books in 35 languages worldwide. Language: English. Narrator: Osho. There is a famous Zen story about a disciple, Riko, who once asked his master, Nansen, to explain to him the old Zen koan of the goose in the bottle. Namely, if a man puts a gosling into a bottle and feeds the gosling through the bottle's neck until it grows and becomes a goose - and then there is simply no more room inside the bottle - how can the man get it out without killing the goose or breaking the bottle? In response, Nansen shouts, "Riko!" and gives a great clap with his hands. Startled, Riko replies, "Yes master!" And Nansen says, "See! The goose is out!" In this Zen-flavored series of responses to questions, the contemporary mystic, Osho, cuts through the mad complexity of the contemporary human mind and its self-created "problems" with humor, compassion, and even an occasional shout and clap of his hands. The goose in the questioner's bottle may be a philosophical problem or an existential dilemma, a relationship drama or an emotional crisis - in each case, Osho's unique and transformational response sets the goose free, allowing us to rediscover the simple and innocent clarity each of us brings with us when we come into the world. From this space, problems are not solved but rather are dissolved: "The goose is out." This is a beautiful audio series giving an experience of a mystic working with people who are searching for themselves. Language: English. Narrator: OSHO. If you are interested in knowing how to take an inner journey, how to find your soul - read on! In these talks, Osho introduces his audience to Zen, with its emphasis on being alert and attentive to the simplest acts of ordinary life as a way to experience meditation. Zen stories serve as starting points for several talks in the series, illuminating the nature of that rare human capacity to transcend the limits of the rational mind. As often happens with Osho, the talks oscillate between commentaries on selected texts, in this case some beautiful anecdotes from the world of Zen, and questions from disciples and other seekers. And, as always, Osho's interest is not scholarly at all but existential: how to point us toward the "Beyondness" from which he speaks. Although Zen tradition was certainly the one closest to his heart, Osho was independent of all traditions. In fact during the last year of his life, he talked exclusively about Zen, albeit a more relaxed, humorous form than the traditional rather rigid and disciplined monastic version. Osho always emphasized that the real important thing was not what he was saying but the gaps, the profound silence between the words, and that one should listen to him like to the wind playing with the leaves, or like listening to music. In this series you will come across a wide spectrum of views and questions related to the human search for higher dimensions of life. And it's certainly a beautiful finger pointing to the moon of truth beyond words and concepts. He takes us into a space from which the existential jump to meditation can happen. The moment when the eternal perfection opens up, the moment all you can say is, "Ah this!" Language: English. Narrator: Osho.
