Recorded in Detroit and Toronto, produced by award winning LINDY and DARYN BARRY these songs were stripped right out of their underwear and recorded for the audiences who have been asking for a take home version of VIVIAN's acoustic shows. Three tracks were laid down at Monster Music with LUIS RESTO (Lose Yourself/Eminem 8 Mile). Based between Toronto and her hometown of Detroit, VIV has had the great pleasure to play with a variety of talented musicians including VIN DOMBROSKI, JOEY MAZZOLA, and BILLY ADAMS (Sponge), SIR TIM DUVALIER (The Orbitsuns), and JOHN DUNN (Liz Larin). In 2001, VIN DOMBROSKI along with TIM PATALIN (The Fags) produced THE LOFT SESSIONS. Recorded at THE LOFT STUDIOS in Michigan this CD was an industry pre-release to the rock album coming. VIVIAN was the only Canadian artist on the NYC summer 2000 ROCK BAND TOUR.COM sponsored by INDIEGRRL. VIVIAN GEORGE has been writing and playing music in the scene since her '94 debut album STRONGER FOR THE FALL. In 1997 VIV released her follow up album 'hARD' with help of a Factor grant with KEN MYHR (Cowboy Junkies. Jane Siberrey) & DARYN BARRY producing. The single 'hARD' placed third out of 1500 entries in the MIX 99.9 radio songwriting competition, receiving airplay all across Canada. HARD as well ROLL OVER were chosen for THE CONTRACT a '98 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL feature. ROLL OVER and I CAN'T are on the soundtrack of ROGERS/AT&T'S PAY AS YOU GO commercials. Available in two configurations, the original album pressed on two 180g RED vinyl discs packaged in heavyweight inner sleeves in a gatefold outer sleeve, and exclusive to Vinyl180 a Collectors Limited Edition of 2000 copies of Still as a three 180g LP set, the third disc comprising the five songs from the Variations E.P featured in the DELUXE CD package. Each disc comes in its own outer sleeve and there is a newly designed twelve page album sized lyric booklet. The whole package fits into its own hardback slipcase making an impressive package, worthy of its contents. Produced by Jeff Tweedy, Still was originally released in June 2015 and MOJO Magazine named RT s Still as the 21st best album of 2015. Richard s been one of my favorite guitar players for a very long time, stated Tweedy. When I think about it, he s also one of my favorite songwriters and favorite singers. Taken as a whole, Still is a powerful dispatch from an acknowledged master who remains unafraid to put himself into demanding new environments its title reflecting that resilience and seemingly endless resourcefulness.
