Auf dem Programm stehen Werke von Händel, Tartini und Telemann. Als Solisten fungieren beim Internationalen Barockorchester Baden-Württemberg Ulrike Engelke an den Flöten und Simon Standage an der Barockvioline.Händels ?klassische? Konzertsammlungen sind die Concerti grossi von Opus 3 (HWV 312-317) mit sechs Konzerten und Opus 6 (HWV 319-330) mit zwölf Konzerten. Sie sind nach italienischem Vorbild komponiert, vor allem im musikalischen Geist, mit den prägnanten Melodiebögen, der großflächigen Harmonik, der zündenden Rhythmik und der eigenständigen Sprache der Streicher. Besonders bezeichnend ist dabei das Streicher-Unisono, eine Eigenheit, die nicht Mangel an Erfindung oder polyphoner Potenz verrät, sondern bewusst die spezifische Klangwirkung geballten Glanzes violinistischer Einstimmigkeit anstrebt. Auf dem Programm steht das Concerto grosso Nr. 11 in A-Dur aus Opus Sechs.Flötenkonzerte von Sammartini und Telemann sind ebenfalls ausgesucht. Telemanns Doppelkonzert für Blockflöte, Fagott und Streicher steht satztechnisch der Triosonate nahe, denn Flöte und Fagott agieren in den Soloepisoden wie in einem begleiteten Trio, wozu die Ritornelle der Streicher, d. h. die immer wiederkehrenden Themeneinschübe, dafür einen konzertgerechten Rahmen schaffen. Die schnellen Sätze machen von rauschenden Streicherfiguren reichen Gebrauch.Ulrike Engelke gründete 1992 Dresdner Akademie für Alte Musik und war von 1992 ? 2004 Direktorin, künstlerische Leiterin und Dozentin für Travers- und Blockflöte in Dresden und Görlitz. Seit 2004 ist sie künstlerische Leiterin und Geschäftsführerin der Akademie für Alte Musik in Baden-Württemberg. Ulrike Engelke war als langjährige Dozentin für Travers- und Blockflöte an der ?Internationalen Sommerakademie? für Alte Musik in Innsbruck, an der Staatl. Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, an der Hochschule für Musik ?Carl Maria von Weber? in Dresden tätig. Von 1992 bis 1997 unterrichtete sie als Gastprofessorin für Traversflöte, Blockflöte und Aufführungspraxis an der Tynska Skola - Karls - Universität in Prag. Ulrike Engelke ist seit vielen Jahren eine bekannte Flötistin und ebenso eine international anerkannte Spezialistin auf dem Gebiet der historischen Aufführungspraxis. Neben mehreren kurzen Veröffentlichungen erschienen 2012 und 2018 im Agenda Verlag in Münster ihre beiden Bücher ?Musik und Sprache? und ?Melodie als Klangrede in der Musik des 17./ 18. Jahrhunderts.? Die wichtigste Interpretation der Frühen Musik nach überlieferten Regeln Aussagen zur vokalen und instrumentalen Aufführungspraxis aus den barocken und vorklassischen Quellen (englisch und deutsch). Simon Standage ist seit 1992 als Dozent für Barockvioline und Leiter des Barockorchesters an der Akademie für Alte Musik Baden-Württemberg (früher Dresdner Akademie.) Simon Standage ist Professor an der Royal Academy of Music, London und gehört zu den international bekanntesten Barocksolisten und Pädagogen. Als langjähriger Konzertmeister und Solist von ?The English Concert? und ?The Academy of Ancient Music? produzierte er zahlreiche CD-Aufnahmen, u.a. alle Violinkonzerte von Mozart und Haydn. 1990 gründete er das Collegium Musicum 90, das exklusiv für die Firma Chandos Records Ltd. einspielt. Standage arbeitet regelmäßig mit dem Collegium Musicum Telemann in Osaka.
