A blueprint for managing people, not generations. Unfairly Labeled challenges the very concept of "generational differences" as an unfair generalization, and offers a roadmap to intergenerational understanding. While acknowledging that generational stereotypes exist, author Jessica Kriegel argues that they are wrong - and that it's unreasonable to assume that the millions of people born in the same 20-year time span are motivated by the same things, attracted to the same things, and should be dealt with in the same way. Kriegel's experience as organizational developer at Oracle puts her squarely in the talent strategy realm, where she works to optimize leadership development, team effectiveness, and organizational design. Drawing upon her experiences with workers of all ages and types, she shows how behaviors know no generational boundaries and how to work with people based on their talents, strengths, and weaknesses rather than simply slapping on a generational label and fitting them into an arbitrary slot. There are 80 million millennials in America, yet there are myriad books on "managing millennials" and "working with millennials" and "the problem with millennials". This audiobook shows that whether you're working with millennials, Generation X, or baby boomers, age is not the issue - it's the interpersonal dynamics that matter most. Examine the concept of "generational issues" Explore the disparate reality of each 20-year generational span Learn to understand and work effectively with other generations Facilitate intergenerational understanding sessions The human mind craves categorization, so the tendency to lump people together is natural. It may, however, be holding your organization back. The members of each generation have only one thing in common - their age - and even that varies by two whole decades. Why assume that they should all be managed ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Karen Saltus. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/gdan/002151/bk_gdan_002151_sample.mp3. On a particular popular social media reviews site, where reviewers are allowed to classify books in their shelving options under terms such as “d**k head literature”, comments toward this very book, included my being told to “castrate” myself, my being called “an a**hole” and being told to “die in a dark hole”. I am only citing scant-examples and these type comments are far more reaching in the negative and offensive directions than I can even begin to convey (Hence: “Unfairly Unfavorable”). Important: Most book reviewers are good, honest people. Just because a reviewer is harsh, this does not make them a bad or dishonest reviewer. I do believe however, that there are stark differences between harsh reviews and attack reviews or those that are directed at authors personally. I believe it is wrong for authors to attack reviewers as well. Authors should see no need in replying to reviews or reviewers, unless there is a legitimate reason to do so (very rare - usually only to point out a major mistaken perception within a book). I also do not believe authors should reply to reviewers with “thank yous”, unless under special circumstances because this would mean that honest, critical reviews should also deserve a “thank you” and a bias toward positive reviews would be evident and unnecessary (readers already know that authors prefer positive reviews). As should be noted by the title of this audioook, I mainly address and discuss “unfairly unfavorable” book reviews that are posted against independent (indie) author's books and eBooks and not those that are earned and deserved by them (negative reviews are merited in most cases, while some are 'undeserved'). Some of the content in this audiobook, I have derived from posts I made on a publisher's forum, which I have rewritten and edited into headings for it. The fact that undeserved negative reviews are posted online by readers on bookseller websites, is evident by the fact that same books at the same time, ungekürzt. Language: English. Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette are among France's most famous royalty, but for reasons they would have much rather avoided. Coming of age in the wake of the reign of the Sun King, Louis XIV, and his father, Louis XV, Louis XVI initially intended to be one of France's most enlightened Kings. Instead, he was destined to be the only French King ever executed. Indeed, it is his death and his role in fomenting the French Revolution (along with his infamous Queen, Marie Antoinette) that continue to play the central role in Louis XVI's legacy. Throughout history, a countless number of historical figures have had their lives overshadowed by the myths and legends that surround them to the extent that their legacy comes to define them. In French history, this is truer of Marie Antoinette than just about everyone else. Nearly 220 years after she was put to the guillotine, Marie Antoinette is more famous than ever, fairly or unfairly coming to epitomize royalty and everything that was wrong with it. Since her death, Marie Antoinette has been the subject of sharp historical debate over whether she was actually a catalyst in the French Revolution or simply an insignificant scapegoat who was unfairly made a target. ungekürzt.
