Weinwisser: 19/20 Punkte  “… (86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot) Frisches, seidenes, komplexes, elegantes Bouquet, Cassis, Korinthen, Vierfruchttee, Zedern, Tabak, Lakritze. Ausgewogener, frischer, vielschichtiger, eleganter Gaumen mit kräftiger, duftiger Aromatik, viel feinem Tannin, dichter, eleganter Struktur, sehr langer, voller, feiner Abgang mit vielen Rückaromen“ Wine Spectator: 97 Punkte "This is so vivid as it brims with pastis-soaked plum, blackberry, black currant and blueberry paste flavors, all carried by a perfectly integrated brambly spine. Tar and ganache notes give the finish an extra kick while everything stays within the mouthwatering roasted apple wood frame. Both regal and rambunctious, this is St.-Julien to a T." Trinkgenuss: 2025 bis 2040 James Suckling: 97/100 Punkte  "Terrific intensity of dark berries, almost peppery blackcurrants and violets with attractive and integrated, spicy oak and an earthy edge. The palate has a super powerful and long, linear core with plenty of fruit flesh strapped in tight for a long and thrilling ride into the finish. A blend of 86 per cent cabernet and 14 per cent merlot. Try from 2024." Wine Enthusiast: 97-99/100 Punkte "This is a powerful wine, with superb tannins and blackberry fruits. It has a dense texture allied to stylish fruitiness and acidity. The result is a wine with the potential to age over a long period of time, while probably showing well starting in 2028."  Decanter: 96/100 Punkte  "Restrained but textured, a confident delivery of lashings of cassis, bilberry and blackberry fruits. This is an exceptional Léoville-Barton that sacrifices none of its St-Julien signature while delivering a powerful, beautifully sculpted wine. This is a total triumph, my favourite for years at this property."  Trinkgenuss: 2027 bis 2050  Robert Parker´s Wine Advocate: 95+/100 Punkte  "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Leoville Barton delivers a superstar nose of crème de cassis, plum preserves and blueberry compote with suggestions of fragrant earth, unsmoked cigars, licorice and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, rich and seductive with firm yet velvety tannins, it has a decadently rich finish." Mit voller Spannung und Vorfreude verkosteten wir Château Mouton Rothschild. In der Nase Cabernet-Frucht pur, Mouton-typische Cassis-Aromen! Dazu leichte Anklänge von Heidel- und Preiselbeere, Pimentos, Tabak. Enorm viel Extrakt am Gaumen. Lange, runde Tannine, wunderbar strukturiert, unglaublich vielschichtig mit traumhafter Länge. Der Block-Buster des Jahrgangs! Weinwisser: 19/20 Punkte  "Sattes Granatrubin. 2028-2050"  James Suckling: 98/100 Punkte  "This is a very shy and tight Mouton with blackberries, blackcurrants and hints of terracotta. Full body and very integrated tannins that are extremely polished and beautiful. Spicy and white-pepper finish. Sexy and exciting. So long and refined." Wine Enthusiast: 96-98/100 Punkte   "Barrel Sample. The wine develops slowly on the palate, gradually revealing its powerful tannins and solid structure. It has the classic black currant fruitiness of Cabernet Sauvignon, to match the robust, lasting tannins. This impressive wine will develop slowly with great power." Decanter: 96/100 Punkte "Vibrancy is one of the key themes of the year in the most successful properties, and this has bright, plump fruit and good depth of colour, even if it´s less concentrated than the past few vintages. The Pauillac first growths have done a great job in 2017, and it´s hard to question the depth of fruit and richness here - there´s no doubting that this is a great Mouton. Cassis and blackberry notes are delivered with precision, but there is a clear restraint that is another signature of 2017, and perhaps doesn´t reflect Mouton´s personality as much as some of its neighbours. There´s not the same weight of tannins as 2016 (around 70 IPT this year, still a high amount), but it´s a beautiful, persistent, gorgeous wine that will age gracefully. 100% new oak. (Image is the 2015 bottle; the design for the 2017 label will be revealed later)." Vinous (Neal Martin): 94-96/100 Punkte "The 2017 Mouton-Rothschild was picked from 7 to 29 September and matured in 100% new oak. This First Growth is driven by the Cabernet Sauvignon, as you would expect given the high percentage, expressive pencil lead and cedar that infuse the slightly introspective black fruit. Dare I say that it actually reminds me of Latour in style? The palate is medium-bodied, finely tuned and precise, a more masculine Mouton-Rothschild compared to the last three vintages, fresh with a sustained, lightly spiced finish that lingers in the mouth. That backbone is accentuated more during my second visit in mid-April. It is a cliché but this Mouton-Rothschild is unashamedly “classic” in style, perchance “le petit frère” of the 2010 MoutonRothschild that also contained a lot of Cabernet Sauvignon (though before you search the archives, yes, the 2011 and 2012 contained the same proportion!) Tasted twice with consistent notes.“ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 97-99/100 Punkte "The 2017 Mouton Rothschild has one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon ever at 90%, with 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Very deep purple-black in color, the nose is already singing of crushed black currants, warm blackberries and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of violets, star anise, cinnamon stick and cloves plus wafts of pencil lead and unsmoked cigars. Mediumbodied, wonderfully delicate yet intense in the mouth (gaining some richness in the mid-palate on my second taste two and a half weeks later), it has super fine-grained, smooth tannins and incredible freshness, finishing very long with tons of tightly wound layers. Wow. This vintage is going to be very long-lived in the cellar!“ Bitte beachten Sie die Sonderbedingungen der Subskription in unseren AGB.

James Suckling: 100/100 Punkte »I am a little bit speechless about this one. I have not seen such earthy and totally deep character of the soil in a young Mouton in my career. Of course, I didn’t taste 1945 or 1959 when they were young, but I have been lucky enough to have a few bottles in my life. There is really terroir-driven character to this. Layered and so intense with polished and incredible tannins.« Weinwisser: 20/20 »86 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 % Merlot, 2 % Cabernet Franc. Trinken 2030 bis 2058«  Decanter: 99/100 Punkte »This has incredible persistency and density of flavour in 2018. It’s extremely well knitted with everything drawn out and taut through the mid palate, slowly layering on the succulent, plump notes of damson, juice-filled blackberries, charcoal, menthol, cigar box, pencil lead and black chocolate that is a signature of the vintage. I always love that this property shares the same gravel-filled plateau as Lafite and yet the two have such different personalities and interpretations of vintages – with Mouton here absorbing the richness of the year and adding a touch of glamour into the wine as always. The alcohol, while still very balanced compared to most in the vintage, is unusually high at Mouton because, as managing director Philippe Dhalluin says; ‘usually the poor soils at Mouton mean the grapes make tannins but not sugar, but in 2018 they made both’. There is the tiniest touch of Petit Verdot in the blend but under 1% so it’s not in the official figures. 100% new oak which has been beautifully integrated. 62% of production went into the grand vin. 3.78pH. 88IPT. The artist design for the 2018 label will be revealed later. 98-100 points. Drinking Window 2026 - 2040« Falstaff: 99/100 Punkte »Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezenter Wasserrand. Hochelegant, rote Kirschen, feine Extraktsüße, superfeine Tannine, tolle Frische, salzig im Abgang, finessenreicher, großer Mouton mit enormer Zukunft.«   Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 97-99+/100 Punkte  »The 2018 Mouton Rothschild is composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc—there is also a splash of all the Petit Verdot they had, but it doesn’t even register in the percentage. Grapes were harvested September 10 to October 3, and the wine was blended at the beginning of December; it has 13.8% alcohol, and the tannins were slightly higher this year. Deep purple-black in color, it is a little closed to begin compared to some 2018s, slowly unfurling to reveal a profound nose of warm black plums, blackcurrant cordial, star anise, blueberry pie and mocha with suggestions of candied violets, oolong tea, camphor and unsmoked cigars plus a touch of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers waves of opulent, spiced black and blue fruits with seamless acid lifting this gorgeous mouthfeel that is at once plush from the ripe fruit and firm and grainy from the super ripe tannins, finishing very long and wonderfully creamy.« Wine Enthusiast: 97-99/100 Punkte  »Barrel Sample. This wine is ripe and juicy, packed with black fruits and generous tannins that sit on a velvety texture. It is dense, concentrated and intensely structured in bold tannins, but still the purity of the dark shines through.« Vinum: 18/20 Punkte »Saftig, knackig, herrliches Tannin, vollmundig, dicht und lang, opulent und doch nicht schwerfällig: hervorragend und stiltreu.
