When her son is kidnapped in Mexico, a mother seeks vengeance. Film director Carole Marchand’s son has just been kidnapped for the third time. The first two times weren’t as troubling, since Carole had abducted Robert herself - incidents in her hideous divorce. This time, the kidnappers are unknown killers, and Carole wants to know what her ex-husband, Warren, is going to do about it. Robert was in Mexico with the American ambassador when gunmen swarmed their convoy, taking the ambassador and snatching Robert up with him. As Robert disappears into Central America, Warren and his colleagues at the State Department turn up no leads. Because Robert wasn’t their actual target, his life has little value. When Carole receives word that Robert has been killed, she resolves to take revenge. If the government won’t help her, she will punish her child’s killers herself. ungekürzt. Language: English. In the predawn darkness of D-Day, an elite fighting force struck the first blows against Hitler's Fortress Europe. Braving a hail of enemy gunfire and mortars, bold invaders from the sky descended into the hedgerow country and swarmed the meadows of Normandy. Some would live, some would die, but all would fight with the guts and determination that made them the most famous US Army division in World War II: the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles". George Koskimaki was part of the 101st Airborne's daring parachute landing into occupied France that day. Now, drawing on more than 500 firsthand accounts, Koskimaki re-creates those critical hours in all their ferocity and terror. Told by those who ultimately prevailed - ordinary Americans who faced an extraordinary challenge - D-Day with the Screaming Eagles is the real history of that climactic struggle beyond the beachhead. ungekürzt. How will the Darien colonists react when all they have worked for is overturned at a stroke? Every significant member of the Hatfield family of Briarton, their ages ranging from 16 to 44, were shot execution-style inside of four different homes not far apart.Local, federal, and state law enforcement officers have swarmed the community, interviewing more than 50 people and combing the wooded areas surrounding the crime scenes. Sheriff Charles Ridley called the investigation one of the largest in Briar County history. Ohio Attorney General Nick Devlin said the massacre was “pre-planned” and “sophisticated”. A wealthy Ohio businessman out of Cincinnati, Ohio, offered a $25,000 reward to anyone with answers. But when the answers started to come, they only raised more questions. Fingers began to point, family conflicts grew, and before this crime was solved, one more local would be found dead.Note: This novel is fictional, but based on true events that happened in Pike County, Ohio, in April of 2016. ungekürzt. On an isolated Greek island, a young American becomes involved in a deadly and diabolical reenactment of a classic Greek tragedy that culminates in Theseus's underground duel with the Minotaur. Jay Chandler, an American archaeologist excavating an ancient Greek temple, is surprised to find himself invited to a weeklong party on an exotic island paradise owned by eccentric tycoon Alexander Krisos. The annual event - swarmed with European nobility, Texas oilmen, ballerinas and bullfighters, millionaire politicos in exile, Japanese potentates, artists, and gorgeous models - is the sort of orgiastic party many would kill to attend. But no one really expects murder to become part of the festivities…until it does. From the party's start under the bright Aegean sky to the finale in the island's underworld of dark caves, the guests are pulled to their destinies by a force as powerful as any invoked by the Greek gods - and Chandler must confront a Minotaur as deadly as the mythic one. ungekürzt. Rich heiress is kidnapped for no apparent reason. Her plane crashes into dense forested area where it just happens that a police detective is taking a much needed rest from his undercover operations. He guides her back to civilization and safety. Her ordeal is over, or is it. Although Hunted Heiress is a formulaic romance, the setting makes it somewhat different from most romances. It is somewhat annoying and amusing at the same time; for example, remember that the heiress is such a whiny little pain in the rear who has never in her life slept on the ground, or so much as seen a bug, let alone been swarmed by them. She readily adapts, however, to find herself attracted to her rescuer in spite of his "common" social standing. For a romance, this is both an amusing and entertaining short story. I would recommend this book to fans of romances. Also, if you have never read a romance, and think you'd like to try one, this is a good one to start with. ungekürzt. Language: English. Most Americans have no idea that the White House was swarmed by UFOs not once but TWICE, once in 1952 and again in 1963. A massive UFO silently loomed over the huge Los Angeles Basin near the coast and was fired on for HOURS by US military forces leaving millions in damages and the loss of human life. No ship was retrieved only stalactite metals that could very well have been debris from an alien spacecraft from another world or dimension as top experts in quantum mechanics have proposed. These and other incidents have occurred in our recent past yet they are not common knowledge and are often shrugged off as fantasy or delusion. Explore the most astonishing and important UFO incidents of all time, the incidents that are of such enormous importance to national security that the world's leaders would have most certainly been informed. They KNOW that aliens are here, they have most likely known since the Aurora incident of 1892. Explore this phenomenon that is destined to impact our society, our world structure, our very being - WE ARE NOT ALONE. Language: English. Narrator: Stan Gordon, William Konkolesky, David Twitchell.
