Gemeinsam mit Claire Huangci, die Solistin am Klavier und Gewinnerin des ersten Preises sowie des Mozartpreises beim Concours Géza Anda 2018 eröffnet ein hochkarätiger Konzertabend die Spielzeit 2022/2023. Mit Howard Griffiths, einem weltweit engagierten Dirigenten, wird ein Programm präsentiert, das umfassend als »Ostprogramm« betitelt werden kann.Die Komposition an seinem Singspiel »Abu Hassan« nach einer Geschichte aus »1001 Nacht« begann Carl Maria v. Weber im Sommer 1810. Verwicklungen in einer Korruptionsaffäre liesen ihn das Stück hochverschuldet im August mit dem »Chor der Gläubiger« anfangen. Abgeschlossen wurde die Komposition im Januar 1811 mit der spritzigen, »türkischen« Ouvertüre. Sein einziges Klavierkonzert komponierte Edvard Grieg 1868 im Alter von 25 Jahren. Während seines Leipziger Musikstudiums hatte er Clara Schumann das Klavierkonzert ihres verstorbenen Mannes spielen gehört. Für den tief beeindruckten Grieg diente es als Modell für sein eigenes Werk, und doch ist der eigene musikalische Charakter des jungen Komponisten unüberhörbar. Der Erfolg der Uraufführung ist dem Stück seither treu geblieben. Seine dritte Sinfonie schrieb Franz Schubert im Alter von 18 Jahren. Das Orchesterwerk entstand in neun Tagen für ein Wiener Liebhaberorchester, in dem Schubert als Bratschist mitwirkte. Die erste öffentliche Aufführung fand erst 1881 statt! Heute gilt Schuberts Dritte mit ihrem bezaubernden Beginn, anmutig schlichten Andante und launigen Finale als sein Durchbruch zur eigenständigen Sinfonik.Die junge Pianistin Claire Huangci, Gewinnerin des ersten Preises sowie des Mozartpreises beim Concours Géza Anda 2018, zieht ihr Publikum durch »glitzernde Virtuosität, gestalteri-sche Souveränität, hellwache Interaktion und feinsinnige Klangdramaturgie« (Salzburger Nachrichten) in den Bann. Nach Auftritten im Klavierduo mit Alexei Vo-lodin an der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg sowie mit ihrem Trio Machiavelli anlässlich dessen neuer CD ist ein Highlight im Herbst 2020 ihre Rezitaltournee durch die Großen Säle des Wiener Konzerthauses, der Berliner Philharmonie sowie der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Ein wichtiges Rezital-Debüt steht zudem im Frühjahr in ihrer Heimat in der »Great Performers Series« am Lincoln Center New York an. Orchester¬engagements führen sie unter anderem zur Deutschen Radiophilharmonie Saarbrücken, dem Museumsorchester Frankfurt und zum Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Das Nordic Chamber Orchestra leitet sie vom Klavier aus mit Konzerten von Mozart und Chopin.Gestartet hatte Claire Huangci ihre internationale Karriere bereits im Alter von neun Jahren mit Konzertauftritten und Wettbewerbserfolgen. Wichtige Impulse erhielt sie von ihren Lehrern Eleanor Sokoloff und Gary Graffman am renommierten Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, bevor sie 2007 zu Arie Vardi nach Hannover wechselte. Besonders als aus-drucksstarke Chopin-Interpretin fiel sie zu Beginn ihrer künstlerischen Laufbahn auf, nicht zuletzt durch erste Preise bei den Chopin-Wettbewerben in Darmstadt und Miami (2009/2010). Zudem gewann sie als jüngste Teilnehmerin den 2. Preis beim Internationa-len ARD Musikwettbewerb 2011.Nach der Debüt-CD mit Solowerken von Tschaikowsky und Prokofjew und einem Doppel-album mit Scarlatti-Sonaten (Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik sowie »Editor´s Choice« des Magazins Gramophone) erschienen 2017 Claire Huangcis vielgelobte Einspie-lung der Nocturnes von Chopin und 2018 die kompletten Préludes von Sergej Rachmani-now. Auf Aufnahmen von Beethovens Violinkonzert in der Klavierfassung sowie der Fanta-sie für Klavier und Orchester von Schubert/Kabalewski mit dem RSO Wien folgte im Herbst 2019 ihr Orchester-Album mit der Deutschen Radiophilharmonie Saarbrücken unter Shiyeon Sung, eine Einspielung der frühen Klavierkonzerte von Chopin und Paderewski. Im Sommer 2020 legte sie mit ihrem Trio Machiavelli ihr erstes Kammermusikalbum mit In-terpretationen von Ravels Klaviertrio sowie Chaussons Klavierquartett vor: »eine insge-samt beglückende Neuaufnahme (...) herrlich transparent, zugleich expressiv.« (BR Klassik). / Saison 2020/2021Howard Griffiths wurde in England geboren und studierte am Royal College of Music in London.
