In late December 2009, a long-standing friend banished me with "you're nothing but a bitter old man." It was a comic yet thundering surprise, rousing a need to defy augury: I&nbsp, must not let those words come true. I must seek a newer world. Renewal seemed best sought in song, so I posted an ad on Craigslist for "accompanist/arranger, my key." Somehow Bálint Sapszon noticed and responded, this project evolving from a happy compatibility-a wonderful surprise because in my younger years I could not find an accompanist whose touch felt right for me. I gave up singing for writing. Now, decades later, a joy: "When the singer is ready, the accompanist appears." ... The essence of the above was written in the early summer of 2010, when Bálint and I 'completed' our effort. It's now December 2013, and I'm humbled by the experience. I was not as ready as I imagined myself to be. My original plan was to offer the album as a demo, the first of a two-part album, but I soon deluded myself into thinking the partial release was more accomplished than it was. I still think the concept has merit, but my delivery needs a great deal more work, and if I'm lucky, I may still find the inner and outer resources to meet the challenge. Despite the disappointment, I've lately found myself thinking a radical thought: 'I'm the luckiest person alive.' Somehow I'm grateful for what I have, and every day I'm more aware of unexpected blessings that consistently come my way. I did not have that spirit four years ago, so in that sense, my album seems to have been a success. Thanks to everyone who gave my work a listen. I hope you and yours find the musical joy and inspiration you seek.

The name 'Appassionata' was given to this Sonata by one of Beethoven's publishers, and it is dead on accurate. In her novel 'The Vampire Armand' author Anne Rice has the protagonist of her book describe his reaction to hearing Beethoven's celebrated work. This 'outside the box' description reawakens our senses yet again to Beethoven's masterpiece. I knew the piano Sonata and had loved it in passing and now it's fury paralyzed me. Appassionata. Up and down the notes rang in gorgeous throbbing arpeggios, thundering downward to rumble in a staccato drumming, only to rise and race again. On and on went the sprightly melody, eloquent, celebratory and utterly human, demanding to be felt as well as heard, demanding to be followed in every intricate twist and turn. Appassionata. In the furious torrent of notes, I heard the resounding echo of the wood of the piano, I heard the vibration of it's giant taunt bronze harp. I heard the the sizzling throb of it's multitudinous strings. Oh, yes, on, and on, and on, and on, louder, harder, ever purer and ever perfect, ringing out and wrung back as if a note could be a whip. How can human hands make this enchantment, how can they pound out of these ivory keys this deluge, this thrashing, thundering beauty? Ann Rice The Vampire Armand reprinted by permission. Random House Provincetown was the place where, for many weeks, I prepared the music for this CD. The spectacular natural beauty of this little fishing village at the tip of Cape Cod has been the inpiration for many artists, musicians, painters and authors for countless decades. In the back of my mind I also kept as a guidepost the astonishing concerts by Arthur Rubinstein . I actually heard Rubinstein play the Chopin B-flat minor Scherzo at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia and the experience of such great music making is etched in my brain forever. The great Provincetown author Michael Cunningham won a Pulitzer Prize for his book 'The Hours'. He mentions listening to the music of Phillip Glass as he writes his prose. The Academy Award winning screen version of 'The Hours' has music by Glass. The final track on this CD is one of the works from that score. Trepid is a 4-piece high-energy hard rock band that originated in October 2008. Based out of Bossier City, La., writing and musical influences include Black Sabbath, Kiss, STP, Godsmack, Led Zeppelin and everything in between that is rock-n-roll. Brian Young is the formally trained guitarist for Trepid. He studied under Tony Bucci, the guitarist for the Lawrence Welk Band. Brian is also a classically trained guitarist who most notably played with local bands Cactus and Noise Merchants. Noise Merchants received radio airplay with Love, Hate, Jaded. Brian blends his own unique playing style with his influences that produce what can only be called an unforgettable array of guitar heaven!! After several years of line-up changes with Noise Merchants, especially with bass players, Brian asked his friend of 20 plus years David Gorman to play bass in Noise Merchants. David answered with a thundering yes and brought with him a wide range of influences, distinct bass playing style, huge stage presence, and attitude. Larry Blevins is the drummer behind Trepid. Larry brings a style all his own and a big stage presence. After all he is 6'5! Larry has played virtually all styles of music and has been playing well over 10 years. Lana has an in your face voice, look, and modern sound that will knock your socks off and keep you coming back for more! Trepid blends a huge love of all rock-n-roll music with their influences into songs full of thrills and surprises that will remind you of what's to come in our near future and what we lived through in the past. Trepid mixes old school heavy rock with a modern sound reminiscent of Godsmack, Pantera, Kiss and Black Sabbath riffs. "And They Call it Revoulution" has lyrical content that gets stuck in your head like a good Nirvana song. Throw in artists like Saliva, Theory of a Deadman, Halestorm and Evanescence and you have Trepid. 'And They Call it Revolution' blends Trepid's huge love of all rock-n-roll music with their influences and this makes for a different treat with every track. Trepid has entertained at such venues as The Riverside Warehouse, Mojo's, Lil' Joes, The Blue Monkey, Cadillac Jack's, Tsunami Bar, The Pioneer Pub, Crazy Frogs, and Gary's Spot. They have shared the stage with great bands such as Idle of the Peach, Trawl, Another Beautiful Letdown, The Event Horizon, Rockhouse, South of Heaven, Dorian's Fall and national act Motley Crude (Uncrowned). Trepid is currently doing small weekend regional tours all across the southern United States. Look for a show near you! 'When Trepid took the stage, I really didn't know what to expect. This was a band I had never met or seen anywhere, other than on Myspace. Instantly Lana joined in with rest of the band and they all came to life. There they were old style rock with metal style lyrics. It made quite an interesting marriage in music. There are a lot of rock and metal bands out there right now, but Trepid brings something unique to the music scene. I cover several music scenes, because I am a southern, four states area writer. The SOUTH, is MY music scene and I always love being surprised.' - Eilene Rogers, It's Ok I'm with the Band (Apr 10, 2010)

A delicate musical and poetic fusion of aching-tenderness, reflection, passion, hope and defiance. "Fallen Rainbow" is a collection of songs, music and poetry ranging from defiant rhythm-vocals, cheeky blues, lazy jazz and intimate, often mysterious ballads. This second CD and Collaboration-Performance-Project from Danny Scott, continues to include his hallmark, heart-felt and highly-textured visual imagery, offering a mellow yet invigorating sensory experience, at times atmospheric and subdued, fallen rainbow is also rumbles with rich celebration! 'Theatre for the ears and the imagination!' Within fallen rainbow, Danny Scott has again chosen to collaborate with a number of different artists, singers and musicians, further establishing his passionate commitment to the fusion of multi-arts disciplines. Whilst all the lyrics were written by Danny himself, they were then, offered to a select group of hand-picked musicians, singers and artists, who, in turn, were given the freedom to express these lyrics through their own composition and song, resulting in a deeply vulnerable, exciting, and highly explosive cocktail of creativity! ...................................... On "Just Another Day" (lyrics by Danny Scott), Ingrid Diem's smouldering, delicately haunting voice, takes us on a journey, contrasting different moments and scenarios, evocatively unfolded in a single day. On "Slow Burn", (lyrics by Danny Scott), Miriam Fuchsberger, lends her velvet vocals, through a combination of soulful and lazy-jazz, reflecting on the closing of old, and opening of new 'chapters of life', with a quiet confidence to 'trust the slow burn of the heart'. On "Bridges" (lyrics by Danny Scott), Carola Caye, sings with a rainbow of vocal expression, from clear, pure, fragile questioning, rumbling tones of wounding,- resonating with edge and mockery, to the passionate thundering of authority, as we are drawn into a World and realm of burning our bridges behind us, and receiving an invitation to 'walk on the water'. Johannes Diem features on numerous tracks, such as "Borrowed Time", "Until Then (Here I Am)" - skilfully reflecting the essence of narrative spoken text (recited by Danny Scott), through piano and keyboard composition, as well as accompaniment on other songs/pieces. ....................... Other artists/musicians included in, and integral to fallen rainbow include: the 'outrageously-skilled Martin Moro, who brings guitars, whistles, vocals, backing vocals most notably on the beautiful visually evocative, celtic-esque 'Gravel Road' and David Boyd, adds his gently explosive, humour and pasion through the blues track 'Where d'you get those shoes?' The whole 'Fallen Rainbow' experience is held together and marinades in the mystery, intrigue and soothing juta-position of Christof Unterberger's cello. - A dynamic, eclectic deeply touching and highly inspiring new CD! ___________________________________.
