Your Lion Inside: Discover the Power Within and Live Your Fullest Life , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 338min
Women are the backbones of their workplaces, their homes, and their communities, but we women often feel drained, ignored, and ineffective, despite our critical roles and hard work. Society?incessant media messaging and the false narratives with which we’re raised - plays a big role in how we perceive ourselves. But could we also be holding ourselves back?In this manifesto of hope, Kimberly Faith - author, speaker, executive coach, and self-described graduate of the school of hard knocks - traces women’s activism and movements for change from 1920, when American women gained the right to vote. Simultaneously, Kim breaks down the limiting mental models that are still standing in the way - often unconsciously - and brings them to life with the Sisterhood, seven stories of women who overcame obstacles in their professional and personal lives.Get ready to be inspired by these stories - as well as how Kim rewrote her own life story - and break through the glass ceiling in your world. It starts with Your Lion Inside. Right here. Right now. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Kimberly Faith. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/191397/bk_acx0_191397_sample.mp3. Impossible People: Christian Courage and the Struggle for the Soul of Civilization , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 448min
The church in the West is at a critical moment. While the Gospel is exploding throughout the global South, Western civilization faces militant assaults from aggressive secularism and radical Islam. Will the church resist the seductive shaping power of advanced modernity? More than ever Christians must resist the negative cultural forces of our day with fortitude and winsomeness. What is needed is followers of Christ who are willing to face reality without flinching and respond with a faithfulness that is unwavering. Os Guinness describes these Christians as "impossible people", those who have "hearts that can melt with compassion but with faces like flint and backbones of steel who are unmanipulable, unbribable, undeterrable, and unclubbable, without ever losing the gentleness, the mercy, the grace, and the compassion of our Lord". Few accounts of the challenge of today are more realistic, and few calls to Christian courage are more timely, resolute, and hopeful. Guinness argues that we must engage secularism and atheism in new ways, confronting competing ideas with discernment and fresh articulation of the faith. Christians are called to be impossible people serving an impossible God. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Derek Perkins. Courage Goes to Work: How to Build Backbones, Boost Performance, and Get Results , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 321min
The hardest part of a manager’s job isn’t staying organized, meeting deliverable dates, or staying on budget. It’s dealing with people who are too comfortable doing things the way they’ve always been done and too afraid to do things differently - workers who are, as Bill Treasurer puts it, too “comfeartable”. They fail to exert themselves any more than they have to and make their businesses dangerously safe.Treasurer, a courage-building pioneer, proposes a bold antidote: courage. He lays out a step-by-step process that treats courage as a skill that can be developed and strengthened. Treasurer differentiates what he calls the Three Buckets of Courage: try Courage, having the guts to take initiative; trust Courage, being willing to follow the lead of others; and tell Courage, being honest and assertive with coworkers and bosses.Aristotle said that courage is the first virtue because it makes all other virtues possible. It’s as true in business as it is in life. With more courage, workers gain the confidence to take on harder projects, embrace company changes with more enthusiasm, and extend themselves in ways that will benefit their careers and their company. ungekürzt. Badass Habits
New York Times bestselling author Jen Sincero gets to the core of transformation: habits--breaking, making, understanding, and sticking with them like you've never stuck before.Badass Habits is a eureka-sparking, easy-to-digest look at how our habits make us who we are, from the measly moments that happen in private to the resolutions we loudly broadcast (and, erm, often don't keep) on social media. Habit busting and building goes way beyond becoming a dedicated flosser or never showing up late again--our habits reveal our unmet desires, the gaps in our boundaries, our level of self-awareness, and our unconscious beliefs and fears. Badass Habits features Jen's trademark hilarious voice and offers a much-needed fresh take on the conventional wisdom and science that shape the optimism (or pessimism?) around the age-old topic of habits. The book includes enlightening interviews with people who've successfully strengthened their discipline backbones, new perspective on how to train our brains to become our best selves, and offers a simple, 21 day, step-by-step guide for ditching habits that don't serve us and developing the habits we deem most important. Habits shouldn't be impossible to reset--and with healthy boundaries, knowledge of--and permission to go after--our desires, and an easy to implement plan of action, we can make any new goal a joyful habit.- Shop: buecher
