This third edition of The Mueller Report, released on November 9, 2020, was compiled using the FOIA-Processed Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election. Previously redacted material was released in June 2020 related Roger Stone and additional unredacted information was released by the Department of Justice in November about the Russian interference efforts. This version of the report has been edited to improve previous editions of the Mueller Report by removing references to legal material, appendices, and footnotes within the full report. Added are references to the approximate length of the redacted material to help with the listening experience for The Mueller Report audio podcast.Volume one of this report details the Special Counsel’s investigation that established that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election principally through two operations. Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.Volume two of this report describes actions the President of the United States took towards the ongoing FBI investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and related matters that raised questions about whether he had obstructed justice. ungekürzt. Plato was a philosopher in Classical Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. He is widely considered the most pivotal figure in the development of philosophy, especially the Western tradition. Unlike nearly all of his philosophical contemporaries, Plato's entire work is believed to have survived intact for over 2400 years. Along with his teacher, Socrates, and his most famous student, Aristotle, Plato laid the very foundations of Western philosophy and science. Alfred North Whitehead once noted: "the safest general characterization of the European philosophical tradition is that it consists of a series of footnotes to Plato." In addition to being a foundational figure for Western science, philosophy, and mathematics, Plato has also often been cited as one of the founders of Western religion and spirituality. Friedrich Nietzsche, amongst other scholars, called Christianity "Platonism for the people". Plato's influence on Christian thought is often thought to be mediated by his major influence on Saint Augustine of Hippo, one of the most important philosophers and theologians in the history of Christianity. Plato was the innovator of the written dialogue and dialectic forms in philosophy, which originate with him. Plato appears to have been the founder of Western political philosophy, with his Republic and Laws among other dialogues, providing some of the earliest extant treatments of political questions from a philosophical perspective. ungekürzt. The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire has always maintained its initial appeal to both the general public and scholars alike. Its sheer scale is daunting, encompassing over a millennium of history, covering not merely the Western Empire from the days of the early emperors to its extinction in AD 476, but also the Eastern Empire, which lasted for another thousand years until the Turks vanquished it in 1453. But Gibbon’s style, part historical fact and part literature, is enticing, and the sheer honesty of the man, who endeavors to be scrupulously impartial in his presentation, endears him to the listener. In this recording, David Timson incorporates the most salient of Gibbon’s footnotes. In Volume IV (Chapters XXXVII–XLVI), Gibbon explores the state of the Roman provinces after the dissolution of the Western Empire, and examines the reasons for its fall - not excluding its ‘immoderate greatness’. He then moves to the Empire in the East and its rule under Justinian (527-565), whose formidable leadership saw the re-fortification of Constantinople and the frontiers of the Eastern Empire. However, dangerous times remain ahead as the Persians make attempts to siege Constantinople. Gibbon ends with the state of the Eastern Empire in the sixth century and its weaknesses after a long war. Discover the one thing you need to know about men and womenAt some point while you're listening to this audiobook, a light will click on, and you will instantly understand. Things that have been a mystery to you for years will suddenly make sense because you'll see the inner logic of it all. The world will be a new place for you. Most of the things you think you know about men and women are wrong, according to the author of this book. Krehbiel disassembles modern myths about how and why men and women relate to one another the way they do and offers a very politically incorrect agenda for how things ought to be."This book is a stiff slap of Skin Bracer on each cheek after a close shave," says one commenter. "Laugh-out-loud funny," says another. This book challenges current assumptions guided by feminism and victimhood and asserts without apology that "men and women are different" and that gender roles are not the result of a worldwide conspiracy to disempower women. These 50 politically incorrect thoughts call young men to abandon the modern approach and look at love, marriage, and sex from a different point of view. It's a radical call for men to embrace the fact that, whether they like it or not, it really is "women and children first", and in order for society to survive, we have to get back to that attitude. Please note: This is not a scholarly work. If you're looking for studies and footnotes, look elsewhere. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Greg Krehbiel. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/194056/bk_acx0_194056_sample.mp3. The fourth book in the Science of Discworld series, and this time around dealing with the really big questions, Terry Pratchett’s brilliant new Discworld story Judgement Day is annotated with very big footnotes (the interleaving chapters) by mathematician Ian Stewart and biologist Jack Cohen, to bring you a mind-mangling combination of fiction, cutting-edge science and philosophy. Marjorie Daw is a librarian, and takes her job – and indeed the truth of words – very seriously. She doesn’t know it, but her world and ours – Roundworld – is in big trouble. On Discworld, a colossal row is brewing…The Wizards of Unseen University feel responsible for Roundworld (as one would for a pet gerbil). After all, they brought it into existence by bungling an experiment in Quantum ThaumoDynamics. But legal action is being brought against them by Omnians, who say that the Wizards’ god-like actions make a mockery of their noble religion. As the finest legal brains in Discworld (a zombie and a priest) gird their loins to do battle – and when the Great Big Thing in the High Energy Magic Laboratory is switched on – Marjorie Daw finds herself thrown across the multiverse and right in the middle of the whole explosive affair. As God, the Universe and, frankly, Everything Else is investigated by the trio, you can expect world-bearing elephants, quantum gravity in the Escher-verse, evolutionary design, eternal inflation, dark matter, disbelief systems – and an in-depth study of how to invent a better mousetrap. ungekürzt. Frank has been in a serious car accident and he’s missing memories - of the people around him, of the history they share, and of how he came to be in the crash. All he remembers is that he is a lawyer who specializes in fine print, and as he narrates his story, he applies this expertise in the form of footnotes.* Everyone keeps telling Frank that he was fine before the accident, "just a bit overwhelmed", but as he begins to reclaim his memories, they don’t quite jibe with what everyone is telling him. His odious brother Oscar is intent on going into business with an inventively cruel corporation.** Alice, Frank’s wife, isn’t at all like the woman he fell in love with. She’s written a book called Executive X that makes Frank furious, though he isn’t sure why. And to make matters even stranger, stored in a closet is a severed finger floating in an old mustard jar that makes him feel very, very proud. As more memories flood in, Frank’s tightly regulated life begins to unspool as he is forced to face up to the real terms*** and the condition of his life.**** Robert Glancy’s debut novel is a shrewd and hilarious exploration of freedom and frustration, success and second chances, and whether it’s worth living by the rules. * Yes, exactly like this. ** We can't tell you what it’s called for legal reasons, but believe us, it’s evil. *** Which are rarely in his favor. **** Which is a total mess. ungekürzt. Copies of two letters, Top Secret military transcripts, and notes from the late Matilda O'Donnell MacElroy, an Army Air Force nurse at the Roswell Army Air Field 509th Bomb Group in 1947. In her letters she asserts that the transcripts are an exact recording of a series of interviews she conducted with an extraterrestrial being as part of her official duty as a flight nurse in the U.S. Army Air Force. During July and August she interviewed a saucer pilot who crashed near Roswell, New Mexico on July 8, 1947. The being she interviewed identified itself as an officer, pilot, and engineer with an Invasion Force from a civilization she refers to as 'The Domain'. Their space craft use the planet Venus and the asteroid belt as space ports in our solar system. The Milky Way galaxy is a tiny area within the territorial possessions of 'The Domain'. The interview transcripts were kept secret - under threat of death - by Nurse MacElroy for 60 years, and released a few months before her passing at the age of 83. This is an abridged version of the book Alien Interview. It does not include the footnotes, index, or table of contents. Only the letters, personal notes, and copies of top secret government interview transcripts from Roswell, New Mexico. The interviews were conducted with the pilot of a crashed UFO at the US Army Air Force Base in July and August of 1947 under government direction by Flight Nurse Matilda O'Donnell MacElroy (deceased). Years ago, when House of Leaves was first being passed around, it was nothing more than a badly bundled heap of paper, parts of which would occasionally surface on the Internet. No one could have anticipated the small but devoted following this terrifying story would soon command. Starting with an odd assortment of marginalized youth -- musicians, tattoo artists, programmers, strippers, environmentalists, and adrenaline junkies -- the book eventually made its way into the hands of older generations, who not only found themselves in those strangely arranged pages but also discovered a way back into the lives of their estranged children. Now, for the first time, this astonishing novel is made available in book form, complete with the original colored words, vertical footnotes, and newly added second and third appendices. The story remains unchanged, focusing on a young family that moves into a small home on Ash Tree Lane where they discover something is terribly wrong: their house is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Of course, neither Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Will Navidson nor his companion Karen Green was prepared to face the consequences of that impossibility, until the day their two little children wandered off and their voices eerily began to return another story -- of creature darkness, of an ever-growing abyss behind a closet door, and of that unholy growl which soon enough would tear through their walls and consume all their dreams.
