Doctor Who: Marco Polo, Hörbuch, Digital, 173min
The first Doctor, William Hartnell, and his companions join the caravan of the legendary explorer Marco Polo in this seven-part 'lost' story from the programme's original 1964 series. The TARDIS materialises at the Roof of the World, Central Asia, in 1289. There they meet Marco Polo and his fellow travellers on their mammoth journey across the Pamir Plateau and through the Gobi desert to Peking. Unfortunately for the Doctor, his Ship proves to be of immense interest to Polo, who sets his mind on presenting it to the mighty Kublai Khan on arrival at his court. But Polo isn't the only one with designs on the TARDIS. The war-like Tegana will go to any lengths to steal the magical blue box, lengths which endanger the lives of all the travellers. When the Doctor meets Kublai Khan himself, his precious Ship is his only collateral in a high-stakes game of backgammon, and Khan is a master of the game.... William Russell, Jacqueline Hill, and Carole Ann Ford co-star as the Doctor's companions, whilst Mark Eden plays the explorer Marco Polo. Dr. Caleb Maddox is a crack San Francisco toxicologist leading a groundbreaking study of the human pain threshold based on minute analysis of chemical markers. He has also just broken up with his artist girlfriend after she discovered a shocking family secret in his past. Seeking solace, Caleb finds a dark, old-fashioned saloon called House of Shields and is mesmerised when a beautiful woman materialises out of the shadows, dressed like a 1940s movie star. The enigmatic Emmeline shares a pouring of absinthe with him, brushes his arm and vanishes. As he pursues her through the brooding nighttime city, desperate to see her again, he simultaneously becomes entangled in a serial murder investigation that has the police stymied - men gone missing, fished out of the bay, with no clue as to how they met their end - until Caleb's analysis of the chemical markers in their bodies reveals that each one was tortured to death. Also present are some of the key components of absinthe. As Caleb finally looks forward to a night spent alone with Emmeline, part of his mind wonders if behind the seductive vision is something utterly terrifying.... ungekürzt. Language: English. Tom Baker stars as the Fourth Doctor in the fifth of five thrilling, brand-new adventures, with Susan Jameson as Mrs Wibbsey, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, and David Troughton as the Visitor. It has been three months since the Hexford catastrophe, and Mike Yates is trying to show strength of leadership to the villagers. But with morale low and supplies running out, it is increasingly difficult to keep his own hopes up. Unless somebody finds them soon, the future looks bleak. So when the TARDIS materialises on the village green, it seems that help has arrived at last. But with two Doctors apparently at large, there is still the small matter of what was buried under Nest Cottage - not to mention who is clamouring to break through the protective force field. Coming Out: Accepting Yourself , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 62min
Coming out, despite the possible initial impetus to do so, is one of the most liberating aspects of your life. It is you who is being you. You don't need approval or permission nor anything else. Accepting who you are in every way is not only cathartic but puts you in a strong and definable position, because it is you who has to live with yourself every second of every day. You are not responsible for what others think or cannot get to grips with; that's all about them. So don't accept any negative backlash if it materialises. This is your life, and you intend to live it the best way you can. As for others, they should do likewise, but from their point of view, so don't take others guilt or disappointment on board, as it is not valid. This is about you - so don't let others turn it around as to how they feel; it's not wanted. If there is "love" in the equation, then everyone should be happy that you are happy. If they are not, then it smacks of their selfishness. This download explores the positive aspects of who you are and not what others would wish you to be for their sake, which has nothing to do with the reality of the situation. ungekürzt. Sky , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 290min
The Juganet is a circle. The circle is a machine. The machine is a crossover point. The point is a paramagnetic intersection. That is where I must be. Not here... Eerie, unsettling and a benchmark production for children's television in the 1970s, Sky was created by Doctor Who stalwarts Bob Baker and Dave Martin as one of the run of outstanding children's dramas HTV produced in that decade. Sky is a mixture of ecological fable, science fantasy and good, old-fashioned peril. An ethereal boy called Sky materialises on an Earth that is as unprepared for him as he is for it. He soon realises that he's been brought to the wrong time and must seek out the Juganet to return to his correct place in reality. With the help of tearaway Arby Venner; his sister, June; and friend Roy, he must race against time as Nature rejects Sky and the Earth's immune system creates the evil Goodchild, who is out to stop him at all costs.... Based on one of the most memorable television series of the 1970s, starring Marc Harrison, Stuart Lock and Cherrald Butterfield. Building on the success of previous releases featuring tales from children's television past, this is the first brand new novelisation from Fantom Publishing.
