L'autore: Errico Malatesta nasce a Santa Maria Capua Vetere (Caserta) il 4 dicembre 1853 da una famiglia di piccoli commercianti. Entrato nell'Internazionale socialista, ne esce quasi subito per incomprensioni tra l'ala italiana dell'Internazionale e il Consiglio Generale di Londra, fino alla rottura completa che porterà M a fondare la "Federazione Italiana dell'Associazione Internazionale dei Lavoratori". Porta gli ideali anarchici per tutto il mondo con una gravosa attività di comunicazione. Dopo essere stato in diversi continenti, rientra in Italia per seguire il movimento anarchico italiano da vicino. Animatore di riviste, convegni, manifestazioni a fovore del movimento anarchico subisce, all'avvento del fascismo, le limitazioni imposte dal nuovo regime, condannato inseguito agli arresti domiciliari per sei anni. Affaticato e gravemente malato si spegne il 22 luglio 1932.
