The rotting flesh in the bucket drew alligators for miles. Cooter Lafuente pulled out a big, glistening, fatty piece. While tearing in half, the tendon snapped and a piece flung onto his cheek. "Argh! Here you go, you big ugly gator!" When he threw the piece of meat into the water, the alligators came right up to the dock where he sat, between all the flotsam left over from the floods. Cooter had no fear, ducking into the shack if he felt they were too close. Parrain's big yellow eyes took it all in. Parrain was the largest alligator in the swamp. Draining a whiskey bottle, Cooter welcomed the burn as it went down, wiping his mouth, he felt Parrain watching. "Yeh, I'm gonna get you, yeah, you think you are the biggest, smartest around here." He watched Parrain's head peek up a little from the murky green water. "You don't better forget who been running this swamp, Parrain, and feeding you all. Ha, I saw that, you are listening, and you better listen good." Tossing the empty bottle at Parrain, the bottle hit the water in front of Parrain, and he submerged under water. "I can't give you all of them," he yelled! "I'll share. I will." He walked into the brush, lifted up a large cement lid, he reached into a hole and felt around. "Where the hell did you get to you little varmints," as he grabbed hold of an arm, pulling out a screaming boy. "No! No! No! Let me go!" "Shut up!" Cooter smacked his greasy hand across the boy's head. Stunned, the boy stopped yelling. As Cooter used his foot to push the lid back over the hole, also kicking a deflated bunch of balloons out of the way that the boy had been clutching in his hand. ungekürzt. Language: English. If you'll gather 'round me, children, a story I will tell 'Bout Pretty Boy Floyd, an Outlaw, Oklahoma knew him well. [Woody Guthrie, “The Ballad of Pretty Boy Floyd” (1939)]November 1, 1932 was a fine autumn day in the sleepy, cotton-farming city of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the heart of Sequoyah County. The blinding rays of the midday sun were shining their brightest, but the otherwise blistering heat was offset by a brisk breeze. These were ideal conditions for a Tuesday, a seemingly pedestrian day of the week, but what was unfolding in the Sallisaw State Bank was anything but ordinary. At first glance, it would seem as if a traveling carnival or a homegrown celebrity had come to town. The sidewalks of the city bank and its surrounding establishments were teeming with locals, generations of families, young lovebirds, and clusters of friends. Indeed, they had convened to witness a spectacle, albeit one of an entirely different sort. The doors of the Sallisaw State Bank swung open with a resounding bang, signaling the start of the show. Out staggered a pair of thieves, each toting bulging sacks of bills and coins and glinting Colt .45s. The hogtied tellers inside the bank desperately wriggled across the floor to voice their distress, craning their necks and directing their muffled screams toward the open door. One had even managed to squirm out of his gag and was calling out to the crowd across the street for help. Unfortunately, his cries were negated, not by the spectators' own cries of alarm but by thunderous applause, supplemented by whoops, whistles, and a constellation of waving handkerchiefs. Some of those who cleared the path for the robbers' getaway car were supposedly patrons present in the establishment during the stick-up itself. The ringleader, a striking young gentleman with a square jaw, a smoldering squint, and dark hair slicked back with scented pomade, acknowledged his admirers with a quick nod before ducking into t ungekürzt. If you're in a relationship with a narcissist, you know all too well the difficulties that you already face. Communication is difficult and strained. You are criticized a lot for no reason. Your self-esteem may be suffering because your mate isn't able to meet all of your needs in the relationship consistently. With an epidemic of one in four people having narcissism, odds are pretty good that if you went to find another partner, he or she would have narcissistic traits, too. So, you work toward the relationship with the narcissist, ever growing and changing like the rest of us. But there is something more beneath the surface of your narcissist. He tells you that he loves you, and he might jump through hoops to show you this. However, other girls are constantly turning his head. He practically gets whiplash trying to climb over you to look at them. Your narcissist might have a great addiction to women. He might have a porn collection the size of Alaska. He might talk to other girls or fantasize over other girls while he is sleeping at night. He may be ducking out and texting other girls. Or it may be just that he has stopped or slowed his frequency of sex with you. He used to be a stallion in the bedroom, but lately he falls asleep snuggling with the television remote. You always hear about women "having a headache" when it comes to sex. But it seems as if your man is always the one turning you down for it. You want to feel needed and loved, but you don't know why he is treating you this way. He used to be romantic, maybe even sending flowers and staying up talking to you on the phone all night long. Now you can't seem to drag his attention away from other things. Is it something you did? Is it something you said? Are you not sexy, funny, witty, or complicated enough to keep his interest? ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: D Gaunt.
