Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul: A Seth Book , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 1258min
From the bestselling author of The Nature of Personal RealityOne of the most powerful of the Seth books, Seth Speaks is an essential guide to conscious living. It clearly and powerfully articulates the furthest reaches of human potential and presents the concept that we are independent of our physical image and have access to intuitional knowledge and other dimensions of reality. Seth Speaks has withstood the test of time and is still considered one of the most dynamic and brilliant maps of inner reality and human potential available today.“Each individual has access to intuitional knowledge and can gain glimpses of inner reality. The universe speaks to each of us in this regard.... Consciousness creates form. It is not the other way around. All personalities are not physical. It is only because you are so busily concerned with daily matters that you do not realize that there is a portion of you who knows that its own powers are far superior to those shown by the ordinary self.“You have each lived other existences, and that knowledge is within you though you are not consciously aware of it. I hope that this book will serve to release the deeply intuitive self within each of my readers, and to bring to the foreground of consciousness whatever particular insights will serve you most.” - Jane Roberts, Speaking for Seth ungekürzt. Eternally Artemisia: Some Loves, like Some Women, Are Timeless. , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 619min
They say some lovers travel through time and are fated to meet over and over again. For Maddie, an art therapist who wrestles with the “peculiar feeling” she has lived previous lives and is being called to Italy by voices that have left imprints on her soul, this idea is intriguing. Despite her best efforts, however, proof of this has always eluded her. That is, until one illuminating summer in Italy when Maddie’s previous existences start to bleed through into her current reality. When she is introduced to the Crociani family - a noble clan with ties to the 17th-century Medici court that boasts of ancestors with colorful pasts - she finally meets the loves of her life. One is a romantic love, and another is a special kind of passion that only women share, strong amongst those who have suffered greatly, yet have triumphed despite it.As Maddie's relationship develops with Artemisia Gentileschi - an artist, who in a time when it was unheard of to denounce a man for the crime of rape, did just that - Maddie discovers a kindred spirit and a role model, and just what women are capable of when united together. In a journey that arcs back to biblical days and moves forward in time, Maddie encounters artists, dukes, designers, and movie stars, as well as baser and ignoble men. With Artemisia never far from her side, she proves that when we dare to take control of our lives and find the “thing” we are most passionate about, we are limitless and can touch the stars. ungekürzt. The Stone Necklace: A Novel , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 703min
Clawing chest pains and a fiery car crash take one life and change the destiny of four others. The Stone Necklace braids together the stories of a grieving widow, a struggling nurse, a young mother, and a troubled homeless man, reminding us of the empowering and surprising ways our lives touch one another and how, together, we can recover from even the greatest of losses. Carla Damron weaves the stories of four people in Columbia, South Carolina, whose seemingly disparate existences intersect through tragedies realized and tragedies averted. Lena Hastings survived breast cancer and marital infidelity but now faces an uncertain future and crises with her teenaged daughter Becca without the support of the one person she has always counted on. Intensive care nurse Sandy Albright, newly released from drug rehab, confronts temptations from her past and false accusations threatening her career, leaving her to wonder if a drug-free life is really living. Tonya Ladson, a mother whose child is injured in the wreck, must decide if her domineering husband is right and a lawsuit will solve their financial problems. Joe Booker, a homeless man who sleeps in a graveyard, loses his gentle benefactor and must either succumb to the real and imagined evils of his world or find the heretofore-untapped courage to care for himself and for others as a stranger once cared for him. Weighted down by their respective pasts, the characters must make life-altering choices that reverberate into the fates of the others, ultimately bringing them together in unexpected but healing acts of compassion, forgiveness, and redemption. The Stone Necklace includes a foreword from novelist Patti Callahan Henry. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Vicky Saye Henderson. King of the Badgers , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 893min
After the success of The Mulberry Empire and The Northern Clemency, which was short-listed for the 2008 Man Booker Prize, Philip Hensher brings us the peaceful civility and spiralling paranoia of the small English town of Handsmouth. Usually a quiet and undisturbed place situated on an estuary, Handsmouth becomes the centre of national attention when an eight-year-old girl vanishes. The town fills with journalists and television crews, who latch onto the public's fearful suspicions that the missing girl, the daughter of one of the town's working-class families, was abducted. This tragic event serves to expose the range of segregated existences in the town, as spectrums of class, wealth, and lifestyle are blurred in the investigation. Behind Handsmouth's closed doors and pastoral façade the extraordinary individual lives of the community are exposed. The undisclosed passions of a quiet international aid worker are set against his wife, a woman whose astonishing aptitude for intellectual pursuits, such as piano-playing and elaborate cooking, makes her seem a paragon of virtue to the outside world. A recently widowed old woman tells a story that details her late discovery of sexual gratification. And the Bears - middle-aged, fat, hairy gay men, given to promiscuity and some drug abuse - have a party. As the search for the missing girl elevates, the case enables a self-appointed authority figure to present the case for increased surveillance, and, as old notions of privacy begin to crack, private lives seep into the public well of knowledge. Handsmouth is a powerful study of the vital importance of individuality, the increasingly intrusive hand of political powers, and the unyielding strength of Nature against the worst excesses of human behaviour. ungekürzt. Reclaiming the Disabled Subject (eBook, ePUB)
Mired inside its rather archaic comprehension as a medical phenomenon, disability, for a long time now, has been ignored as a marker of identity. The world has only been busy in rectifying the absences that have, ostensibly "dis-abled", rather than accepting such impaired existences as human beings themselves. The volume intends to reclaim the representations of disability and present narratives that do not just use the figure of the disabled as a means to an end. It includes translation of 17 disability centric short stories from multiple Indian languages into English. Further it uses these stories as illustration to test and develop new theoretical formulations concerning disability and the disabled. What grants the proposed work its uniqueness is, in other words, not only the translations of the erstwhile lost stories of disability but also the use of these stories towards the formation of theoretical paradigms to move forward the project of Disability Studies. The volume shows, interrogates and problematizes the affect that impairment and disability has on those who are "abled". It presents how the "normal" human being approaches the disabled and interacts with them. All in all, owing to its academic engagement with disability as a phenomenon and within a narrative, this work intends to take the role of a resource book that will find ready use in the newly emergent multidisciplinary field of Disability Studies and will be of great significance to India and the world at large especially since Literature has a major role to play in this field. Not only, then, does it present different disability narratives to the world but, through their academic interrogation, also allows researchers and academics, especially in India, to form the theoretical enhancements in Disability Studies that both our country and the world desperately require.- Shop: buecher

Johnny Would You Love Me If My Dick Were Bigger , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 196min
Brontez is a raw tongue of flame blazing through all the blatant fakery and insincere bullshit of today’s gay/music/human scene. This audacious non-memoir burnt the hair off the back of my neck and had me rolling with glee.” (S.F. Bay Guardian)A dirty cult-classic put out in a small batch by an underground publisher (Rudos and Rubes) in 2015, Johnny Would You Love Me If My Dick Were Bigger recounts the life of an artist and “old school homosexual” who bears a big resemblance to author Brontez Purnell. Our hero doesn’t trust the new breed of fags taking over San Francisco, though. They wear bicycle helmets, seat belts, and condoms. Meanwhile, he sabotages his relationships, hallucinating affection while cruising in late night parks, bath houses, and other nooks and crannies of a newly conservative, ruined city.Furiously original, vital, and messy, this funny “non-memoir” uncovers a revelatory truth for the age: There are things far scarier than HIV. Welcome to Margaret Wappler's slightly altered 90s. Everything's pretty much the way you remember it, except for the aliens. When a flying saucer lands in the Allens' backyard, family patriarch and environmental activist Ernest is up in arms. According to the company facilitating the visits, the spaceship is 100 percent non-toxic, but as Ernest's panic increases, so do his questions: What are the effects of long-term exposure to the saucer, and why is it really here? The family starts logging the spaceship's daily fits and starts, but it doesn't get them any closer to figuring out the spaceship's comically erratic behavior. Ernest's wife, Cynthia, and their children, Alison and Gabe, are less concerned with the saucer and more worried about their father's growing paranoia (not to mention their mundane suburban existences). Heaven and Below: The Spirit World Revealed to an Anglican Vicar: Book 1 of Spiritism , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 592min
The series of three books I have written; analyzing and expanding the communications from various groups of spirits to the Rev. G. Vale Owen, are for the express purpose of explaining the reality - the organization, the process, the environment, the progression of spirits, the work, the daily life - of Heaven and the realms below to provide for those interested an understanding of why we are on earth, in our present physical form, and what is waiting for us when our dense shell is cast off and we return to the real world...the spirit world.Heaven and Below - The Spirit World Revealed to an Anglican Vicar: Book 1 of Spiritism - Covers communications that pertain to three main themes:Life in heavenLower regionsAppearances of Jesus in the spirit realm Many religions offer pictures of life after our spirit leaves our physical body. Most descriptions are hazy and prone to numerous interpretations. Spiritism, via communication from spirits who have been selected by high-level spirits, supplies us will real and actionable knowledge. Revelations in Spiritist literature presents an exciting picture of the bands of heaven and life therein. While a fuller explanation is extended about aspects of life and the organization of the regions below heaven. The information provided is revelatory, amazing, and disconcerting. Our status of independent life forms, living a life shaped by random events, beginning and ending on earth is irrevocably altered by what was exposed. If we look at our life as a one-time event, there is no advantage in not pursing the most hedonistic lifestyle possible - just as a child would consider the pluses and minuses between studying or playing. On the other hand, Spiritism lifts us up the mountain so we can see our lives arc over many centuries. One life is just one set of courses on the school of Earth. In between physical existences, we may either spend it in heaven or below. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Brian Foster. The Art of Life: How to Live a Happy and Meaningful Life: The Art of Life Series: Being, Seeing, Doing, Routinizing, Transforming, Book 1 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 125min
The Art of Life is a small book that can change your life! Please don't miss the chance!A simple, elegant, and beautiful pattern help you live a happy and meaningful life!Out of Tao, one is born; out of one, two; out of two, three; out of three, the created universe. - Tao Te Ching, Chapter 42In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. - Bible, Genesis 1:1-3The art of life is of essential importance to every person no matter rich or poor, man or woman, old or young, west or east, because everyone wants to have a happy and meaningful life but try in vain to achieve both at the same time.Inspired by the Bible and Tao Te Ching, two of the most original and influential books ever, The Art of Life, then, has been developed and resolved into five status of existences. These are (0) Being (with The Being); (1) Seeing; (2) Doing; (3) Routinizing; and (∞) Transforming. All life stuff is based on Absolute Tao or I Am Who I Am, The Being of all beings. Hence, when you stop to be with The Being, you begin to see; when you know, you may have the courage to take actions; when you act, you can create a new habit; when you have a good habit, you will achieve your goals or have good virtues; with goals achieved and excellent virtues, you continually transform and grow; when you continuously transform and grow with the golden spiral, your life is bound to be both happy and meaningful, no matter what circumstances you are in.And this is the Art of Life, a simple, elegant, and beautiful pattern that can change your life.I hope you will enjoy this book! ungekürzt. Sisterly Love , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 602min
Sisterly Love is about the unique bonds of sisterhood.... This is certainly not a story with its conventional beginning, middle, and end, although all that does happen in it. But I have wanted to depict eras and places through the lives of two sisters, and these come and go at will, following the need that each of the sisters has to relate her memories or to comment on her present. So I suppose I could say that there is a story line, but it is not conventionally told. The story of their lives begins in the early years of the 20th century with the usual sibling rivalries and disputes exaggerated by the presence of an obnoxious aunt, and we revisit them from time to time, starting in the 1930s. Elsie typifies the solid, conservative, hardworking office girl. Lillian shifts with ease from one boyfriend to another, from one husband to another, from one boss to another, from one country to another, yet she always returns to take refuge by either Elsie's or Horace's (their young brother's) home fires. By dint of Lillian's wanderings, the novel moves from London to an English country village, to South Africa, to Australia, to Spain, back to London, all vividly evoked through reminiscence. It is loneliness in their advancing years that forces them into each other's company, despite themselves. It is the sadness of having nothing else in life that inevitably flings them against one another, painfully peeling away the layers of their past existences and forcing them to surrender themselves to the irritating state of undesired dependence. It is the inescapable pathos of two lives reduced by the passing years to grumpy proximity in a small bedsitter that breathes life into Sisterly Love.... My aim was to write about how youth transforms into old age with a certain humor, sadness, and sensitivity. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Diana Hutton. Covert Ops: Gemini , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 223min
In a world where no one can be trusted and no one is safe, spies are everywhere. In the kitchen of the small house on the corner. High above a city at the top of a skyscraper under construction. In the checkout line at the local grocery. People with skills unheard of by most normal citizens living normal everyday lives as accountants, teachers, plumbers, and more. Everyday existence is their only battle...until a lone voice on the other end of the phone or in the static of a radio or even whispering in their ear from over their shoulder welcomes back to the war. Their own personal codename followed by one word - gemini. And then the housewife, the normal joe, Mr. and Mrs. America become the deadliest espionage agents this country has ever created, members of the top secret initiative known by very few as Covert Ops: Gemini. Pro Se Productions, concept creator Tommy Hancock, and authors J. Walt Layne, Wesley Smith, and Tim Lasiuta proudly present Covert Ops: Gemini. In the tradition of Mission: Impossible, Covert Ops: Gemini delves into the world of international espionage and looks at the men and women who make up the deadliest team of spies ever. Led by Steven Graves, roguish and calculating agent, and overseen by the mysterious Officer James, members of Covert Ops: Gemini live regular lives, hold down normal jobs, build families and careers, until they are needed. Then they step away from their desks, their aprons, their very existences and put skills outside of their normal persona into use as they were trained to. What follows for them may be failure or even death. But, if they succeed, not only does the world go on, but they get the one thing back they value most - their covers. Classic spy fiction at its best! ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: George Ridgeway. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/054932/bk_acx0_054932_sample.mp3.
