Harry Hayward has been doing what he has been doing for a long long time. He was once permanately banned from Miami Beach for performing Dog Humpie on stage with the bands equiptment manager, Moonman. His material ranges from spoken word such as The Therapist, The Capn's On his Way and Harry You A Butthead, to the jazzy 'My Last Drunk (so far...)', a foot tapping 'Animal Hoedown' featuring clarinet, Tuba and dildo, and the' French' Allons Poo-Poo. Other tunes range from the countryish ' It Took 4 Beatles to Make 1 Elvis', ' A Girl Named Johnny Cash' and that memorable favorite 'Hunk O'Nookie'. Harry is a ventriloquist who has an 80 year old dummy who 'works with wood' in public. This CD was reviewed in MOJO magazine. Harry thinks it was a good revue but can't really remember. Though he does not understand how, one of his songs 'I'll Never Be Happy Again' was used on the TV show 'The Shield'. The 15 second cameo has netted him some $300 over the last 3 year period. Add roguish charm, radioactive layers, licks as sharp as a dart and it's a potent cocktail, shaken not stirred. The Freaksville spirit is ever-present, primarily through insistent guitar but also in the comic universe it creates. In addition to cover of La Variété (J'écoute une K7 de la vedette) and lyrics by Michel Moers of Telex (J'aurais Ta Peau) and Jacques Duvall (Le roi des paranos, Le pseudonyme), the words look towards a weird and twisted future, a cyber-wallonia of 2035 where a computer finds love, the perfect woman arrives from another galaxy, and a ventriloquist is dumped by his dummy. This is the universe that The Love Drones unfolded in the hands of Ed Peffer of Fortress Studios in Provost Street (stomping ground of such groups as Primal Scream, Death In Vegas, Spiritualized et Magazine)and then mixed by Gilles Martin (Front 242, Polyphonic size, Minimal Compact as well as Venus and Girls In Hawaii).
